So the issues I'm having very well could be due to the humidity we are experiencing in PA but my hair has never responded to humidity this way. My hair is super frizzy and basically expands on contact once I go outside. Even putting my hair in a bun has become difficult. Neither Wetline or Eco-styler keep my hair from looking frizzy and fuzzy. I thought maybe it was the glycerin in Wetline but now Eco-styler isn't working either.

Is anyone else's hair super frizzy or fuzzy? It's not dry because I moisturize every other day and even on the day I moisturize same issue. I've decided I want to wear buns basically the rest of summer but will need something to lay my hair down.

I have 3c normal to high porosity hair with thick strands and normal density. Thanks for helping!

Maybe try a smoothing shampoo and conditioner combo like Frizz Ease or Mizani Thermasmooth.

Thermasmooth is a Godsend for my frizz. I only use the dc though.

Have you tried resetting your hair with a clarifying poo? Sometimes build-up changes the way hair behaves.

Sounds like your hair is very porous and absorbing all of the moisture in the air. Are you using a good deep conditioner??
I bun my hair while it is wet and it lasts 7 days without frizzing up.

For high porosity hair, you probably find your hair gets frizzy very easily because your cuticle is almost always open. Virtually every bit of moisture in the air is able to pass through. If this level of porosity is inherited, you can try regular protein treatments and reconstructive conditioners (like Design Essentials or Scruples) as a way to block some of the moisture coming through the cuticle. If your hair has high porosity due to chemical damage (especially high level bleaching), you need to be extra careful with manipulation, as your hair is far more susceptible to breakage. You also need to consider cutting away the damaged hair over time as the possibility of being able to repair it is low.

While leave-in conditioners are important for all levels of porosity, it is extremely important for high levels as you may find it difficult to retain moisture without frizzing after styling. A leave-in with essential oils is going to help the hair hold on to more moisture in the coming days. Also, leave-ins that eliminate frizz and define curls will work to shape hair and seal the cuticle. When styling, you may find it helpful to use products classified as anti-humectants that repel water. In most cases, these are silicone-based products. They keep external moisture out, which ultimately reduces frizz.

Thanks for all the suggestions ladies! I haven't used my Redken Cleansing Cream in a minute so I will try that this week. I will also use my Aveda smoothing poo and conditioner. I've been using the Camille Rose ginger rinse lately and thought that was good enough to clarify? I was also using the Aveda Rosemary Mint as well but sounds like I need a good ole Redken cleansing. I will try that and report back, probably have more build up than I think especially since I've been using the CP growth oil.

Girl, I feel your pain. I went to Jamaica recently and my hair was hard as a rock. The products I use in the states does not fair well in hot climate. Thank God I had a profectiv product that gave me some type of softness.:afro:

Update ladies...first thanks again to everyone who responded and offered suggestions! So I ran out of my Redken Cleansing Cream and went to Sally's and purchased the Ion Purity, I also decided to try the smoothing shampoo and conditioner. Needing to clarify was definitely my issue...my hair looks and feels so much better. I can't remember the last time I had clarified and now realize the Camille Rose ginger rinse isn't strong enough. I also will re-up on my Redken ASAP.

Yay I'm glad to hear that your hair responded to clarification. Sometimes the build up is sort of obscure and you have to have a high index of suspicion to be able to diagnose it. I have been able to reset my hair before by clarifying it with my favourite shampoo (HE Bee Strong) and going back to the last regimen that gave consistent great results. Straying away every now and then to trial new products is very tempting though. The funny thing is that some shampoos can be almost stripping but non-clarifying. Isnt that weird?

That's how I feel about that Ginger Rinse.

@Daina, :clap: Yay!

@Alma Petra, you are so right about some shampoo's disguised as something else. While I like the CRN ginger rinse, I definitely won't stray again from my tried and true clarifiers.
