Ok, I'm stretching. I'm kinda liking/loving my natural texture so I'm considering texlaxing and entertaining brief fantasies of going natural. I've been stretching for like three months so far with two inches of new growth and my hair is looking like a factory full of I'll-be-dayums. My S.O. pops in to surprise me today and I'm rockin' a raggedy center part accentuated by two HUGE reverse puffed dookey plaits. (i.e. I look like hot garbage) I'm all :ohwell: if I knew you were coming I'd have fixed up a bit. He tells me that he doesn't care.... and I really believe him. I'm half ashy, t-shirt, shorts, and wild "fresh out of bed" hair :look: and he's looking at me like I'm the most beautiful thing in the world.

He knows about my hair plans, goals, and LHCF. He's pretty supportive and several times he's just like,"Leave it alone... don't cut it....let it do what it does." To which I respond, "My hair looks like crap!!!", and he says, "Your hair looks fine. I like it like that! There is NOTHING wrong with your hair!! There's nothing WROOOONG with your texture! Whyyyyyyy do women do that? We're not all supposed to be the same skin color or have the same eye color or have the same hair style or texture. There's NOTHING WRONG with it. I LIKE IT!" This is when he reached his hands into my hair and played (as in rolling my little coils between his fingers and stroking my hair and scalp....played) with my new growth.

:drunk: Yay!

Sounds like you got a keeper!!! Me too, no matter how I try to make him see what I see he sees that chic that he loves ANY WHICHA WAY!!

Girl, he's a KEEPER! :lick:

He is just precious; men don't have the same mentality about this like we do; go, boyfriend! :yep:

It's great that you have a supportive man like that. I hear so many stories that are the exact opposite. You're a very lucky lady.

girl, that man LUVSyou!!! :lachen:

when i first told my SO i wanted to go natural, he was like :look: "okay... well, i love you no matter what your hair looks like." then he watched me BC and even helped me shape up the back. i tried to tease him the other day by saying i wanted to cut it all off again and his response was, "you know, you were sexy with short hair. you're sexy with your hair now. everything you do with your hair is sexy." this is the same man who watched me do Turbo Jam today, and told me not to lose too much weight. :kiss2:

your man's a keeper :yep:

Yep! Ya got a keeper. Lemme tell ya what this one over here said last week:lachen:I had put some Alma Oil in my hair and I was chilling, in the room with him watching tv, so he goes, What is that smell? I'm like huh:look:? (knowing very damn well what he's talking about:lachen:) He goes, that moth ball smell. I started laughing and said my hair oil. He's like :perplexed <<<literally he looked at me like that. So, later we're in the kitchen cooking and he goes, I wish you go sit down somewhere, with that shish in ya hair:rolleyes: This is my SO of 6 years and my baby daddy. So I don't pay him no neva mind. Now when I wear my hair down and it's blowing in the wind, he's like dang my baby hair all blowing in the wind but na he wanna trip on my Alma Oil...whatever!!!!

My boyfriend is the same way. I was so scared of my natural hair, that I transitioned for a year. A WHOLE YEAR, LOL. It would have been longer, but he got so fed up with me and my micro braids (which cost me a whopping 125 every time I got em done, not to mention that fact that they were eating my edges alive:nono:), that he gave me an ultimatum: Him or the Braids:spinning:
AND HE WAS DEAD ASS SERIOUS YA'LL:lachen:

So, I took the braids out, got the permed ends cut off and I couldn't be happier.

I love him for it:love::Rose:

I didn't mean to laugh, but it made me :lachen:out loud & ! :lachen::lachen::lachen:

to the, OP: That's so sweet! Lucky you! :yep:

I remember telling my SO my thoughts on going natural, which means possibly cutting my hair and he was like :perplexed "I don't think I'll like your short hair" or I'll tell him to feel my new growth, b/c I want him to feel the soft lil waves, he feels them, and then is like :perplexed...........(whatever:rolleyes:)

Yup, he sounds great but, now lets work on you...

You've got the guy, and he has a great mentality. You are gonna have to stop downing yourself. Go with what he says.

You are saying so many negative things about your texture and your ragedy plaits and so forth & so on. And he keeps proving to you that he loves you just as you are. His plan is better.

You should lift your self up more and clip some of your negative thoughts.

You're beautiful even when your ashy and funky...talk yourself into believing that....he does.

Just my 2 cents.

How sweet! My boyfriend told me the other day, Okay do something with your hair, it looks mad... to be fair, it did.

now THAT'S what i'm talkin about, how supportive of him :) any man i end up dating better get used to the same thing, LOL. thanks for sharing!

Wow! I agree with the person that said he's a keeper. He's so positive and I can tell he's in love with u. Because only being in love like that can make people overlook how funky and ashy you are and still see you as Beyonce when you just woke up / you sick and really probably look sumthin like crackhead Halle in "Losin Isaiah." That's life though. A lot of times, other people don't see the flaws that we see ourselves. And most of the time, they're right. :grinwink: I have a friend with long beautiful hair and some days she complains about her frizziness making her look a HAM. I look at her hair and see absolutely nothing wrong. There may be a tiny bit of frizz around the edges but her head is still gorgeous....Thanks for sharing.
