For those who have tried both, which is better (makes new growth softer, moisturized, and more managable)---Healthy Hair butter or Profectiv's Root Health?

THanks in advance everyone!

Thank you DatJerseyDyme, that was quick responding

What are the ingredients to "Root Health"?

I really like the HHB, but I'm looking for a less expensive (even if it means sacrificing quality) alternative

Hello Peachtree!
Okay, these are the recognizable ingredients in Root Health (excuse typos.pleassssssse):

***water, mint balm extract, tea tree extract, ginseng extract, propylene glycol, propylene glycol dicaprylate, soybean oil, glycerin, trimethylsilylamodimethicone (cones?????), cetyl alcohol, lanolin oil, collagen, keratin, wheat protein, panthenol, corn oil, fragrance.

Peachtree,
In terms of price, the two products are about the same. Root Health costs about $4-5 for 4.25 ounces, but what makes the difference is---you don't have to pay the hefty shipping cost for Profectiv products, so that makes Root Health $7-8 cheaper than Carol's daughter HHB. I really want to try her stuff, but that shipping cost turns me off. The only time I pay $7-8 for shipping is when I'm having a big box of oils delivered---like gallon size containers. I think close to $10 is too much shipping for one 16oz product

I know you use glyerin and castor oil also---those 2 products are good for keeping the new growth soft also. Castor oil makes my new growth flatten out. A little root health, castor oil and glycerin/water can work wonders.

I might try HHB one day, but not this month.

Ooo, thanks Brownie! U know that ur always there when I need u girl

I'm gonna look for Profectiv's Root Health during my next bss run

According to a prev post, RH has a watery consistency... I'm cool with that, cuz I end up adding water to my CD HHB just so that I can loosen it... it's much too rich & thick (even when creamy) to apply to my already thick new growth. I can barely get a comb through it as is... but when I add CD HHB without diluting it with water 1st, I might as well throw my comb away... cuz it's not gonna get through my hair

!!!

Thanks again luv... I'll let u know how it works for me. RH, castor oil, glycerin & distilled water sounds wonderful

Root health is more watery, which is good because my hair likes water a lot. I like putting thick products on my ends, but not so much on my roots---like you, I don't want to add too much product to my already thick roots---castor oil, water, glycerin & root health work great though.

I'll be using castor oil and glycerin a lot in the future. I have a gallon of each
