You ladies all sound like hair guru's so i dont understand some of the abbreviations you use for certain products. That's only one of my dilema's. I have absolutely no idea how to care for my hair and get it to grow. The only thing that has been working is to leave it in a weave for 2-3 months. I just have it washed, conditioned and dryed then braided for the weave. I am growing out the relaxed hair and I have those relaxed ends cut off each time I get a weave. That seems to help a lot. The big question is What should I do? should i leave the weaves alone so that i can care for my hair properly or are the weaves ok? what other styles would you suggest for me? Also, what kind of hair products, vitamins, etc do you use to grow your hair? please, no abbreviations I have no idea what you guys are talking about just yet. If you have any homemade recipes please include portion measurements and please tell me what these products will do for my hair.

I have seen many of the posters refer to tea, henna and yogurt. what brands or types do you use and where can i find them? what do these products do for the hair? what kind of dryers, wraps, styling/hair care tools are must haves? how often should I apply certain treatments to my hair? how many times a week should i wash and condition my hair? I need to know everything in detail!!! I need help big time!!!!!

My hair is driving me crazy

It resists every relaxer i've ever tried

. And we all know that a press will not last long in this humid weather. I have seen some of the recipies you have submitted concerning natural hair straightening. I will try those when I take down my weave next week. This short mess of hair isnt long enough to frame my fat face and I honestly need some style solutions that would allow me to stay attractive but also be able to apply daily/weekly treatments to my hair. I like the way it feels in it's natural state. it is soft like baby hair after i grease it or put some pink oil moisturizer in it. i let it towel dry. my husband accidentally broke my hair dryer and that was the best mistake he's ever made. i never bought another dryer and my hair is thanking me for it. i have heard about that wild growth hair oil. have any of you ever used it and does it work? I need your help desperately. a million thanks to all of you in advance.

Hi Pearlgirl

I would say like the other poster and do some searches & read over previous threads. There is a ton of information on here. A good transition style for me was cornrowing my hair up into a ponytail then adding a synthetic ponytail to cover the braids. I would often switch up the ponytail from curly to straight, long to short, etc. I would add beads sometimes. It's a good summer style.

You can grow your hair out with weaves 9sewn in kind, not gule

but you can also do the phonytail thing, and regimes are posted all over this board as well as vitamins so just tkae your time and things will fall into place 1 by 1, you've already taken 2 good steps, what your doing now to transition sounds good to me, but I would lay off the drying after the washing to braid, try to braid it moist or air dry in medium plaits then get it rowed 2nd you came here.
It took me a good year to get my regime down and together so just keep on keepin on.
