My hair is sucking up moisture!! I find myself putting S-curl in my hair twice a day. I condition-wash everyday. I BC'd last week!! I'm still learning and getting to know my hair. I would like to wear my natural hair but I'll continue to wig it until I can handle the texture. Please help me!! Thank you in advance!!

I am going to try and take a stab at this one:
If your usual products begin to stop working and your hair is just getting dryer and dryer you may have buildup and it's time to clarify. An apple cider vinegar rinse following a clarifying shampoo might be good because it also seals the cuticle.

Thank you cutenappygrl!! I didn't even think about clarifying. I was concentrating so much on moisturizing my hair.

I love shea butter. It is great for holding in moisture and my hair never gets dry. I agree with the other posters that clarifying might help...you should try that first.

I second shea butter. I spritz my hair with aloe juice then smooth on some shea butter or red palm oil to seal in the moisture. My hair stays nice and soft for days.

I just BC'd about two weeks ago. The first week, my hair constantly felt dry. I just stuck to my regimen though. I co-wash everyday, moisturize with ORS Olive Oil Cream or CD Hair Milk, and then seal with S-Curl. For the last week, my hair has been so soft and moisturized.

Keep your regimine simple. Try using a cream moisturizer and then seal with S-Curl. That's what I do and I love it.

In addition to clarifying or chelating- you may need to whole head baggy to infuse moisture. There is a baggying 101 in the pinned favorites. Other than that I hear that for people who have very dry hair issues Hawaiian Silky Miracle worker 14 in 1 works significantly better than S- curl. You may still have scab hair and that will help it with retaining moisture.

:yep:

You might think your hair is insane, but for a while there, the concept of OVER-moisturizing your hiar will be foreign - as long at it seems thirsty, keep giving it moisture. And be sure to clarify often - esp. if you are using products with cones in them - to insure that all of the moisture gets to your hair....

I had to kick that S-curl stuff to the curb. Quick fast and in a hurry. It was the cause of my hair being greasy and dry. Sounds weird..yea I know.

I CO-Washed and sealed with an oil. I than used a water bottle with water and glycerince to re fluff or moisturize my twa and sealed again with oil. That was the days I didn't feel like CO-washing. Or if my hair felt dry during the day..I would just spray it. Or wet my hands and rub it through my hair.

I am now using this cream from Africa's Best Kid's Organic Scalp and Hair something. It is great...reallly moisturizing.

i would wet your hair with a handful of water then apply moisturizer then some oil. it should get softer and more moisturized over time. it does take training.
