HELP PLEASE...why is my temple area sore?

I get the strangest "tenderness" in the thinning areas of my temples. I've always had less hair there even as a girl. Occassionally the scalp there gets sore and irritated with an almost "tingling" sensation. Anyone have a clue as to WHY? is it the slow death pangs of more dying temple follicles /images/graemlins/cry3.gif?!?!?! TIA! edited to add I'm a 3c/4a natural & only style with loose buns, no rollers, no heat, minimal combing/brushing, etc.

I'm not sure why. If you are wearing tight hairstyles that pull the front of your hair, then that could be causing the soreness.

Hey gogo /images/graemlins/wave.gif,
That used to happen to me all the time. I don't know why it happens, but using Nioxin Follicle Booster in conjuction with Profectiv Anti-Thinning Formula has grown back my edges and I no longer suffer from the tenderness or thin temples.

thanks ladies for the input! Ive read a lot of reccommenations for Nioxin. The follicle booster will be my next purchase. I have gotten good results the past couple of days with putting a little almond oil spiked with peppermint e.o. on the temples & gently circular massaging with my Spornette "super looper" brush (which is too soft to use for anything else!) The tenderness/soreness is gone & hope the Nioxin will help fill in the area. (took before pics to chronicle my efforts!) thanks again
