Oh my goodness! First of all, I deserve
for backsliding and using heat on my hair. I haven't used heat in 2 months, but today, after I washed and conditioned, I blowdried and lightly flat-ironed my hair. I did not lose as much hair as I did in the past when I was not moisturizing my hair and just blowdrying after every shampoo, but I lost more than I have seen in one session since the time I gave up heat. I now see that heat is not for my hair. I could not do this on a regular basis. I'd be back to square one. I do daily conditioner washes most times, so I barely see any hairs in my comb or on the floor. This is really working for me. The heat is a no-no.
But I just had to see my hair.
I have been airdrying in a ponytail for weeks and weeks, putting on s-curl, etc. I haven't seen my hair dry in what seems like a lifetime! On the upside, my hair is so voluminous now compared to when I first joined the board and it has grown, plus my ends still look good. When I blew my hair out, it looked so big and healthy. This made me happy. I see that my regimen is working for me, I just wish that I did not have to see the hairs all aound me in order to realize this! That's what I get for letting myself get stuck in a rut.
I need to get a rotation of protective styles STAT so that I don't keep slipping like this. Thanks for listening to my little rant. Does anybody else sometimes feel stuck in a protective style rut? I am so scared to wear my hair down, even in a braidout...I just have this fear of losing my ends. Maybe I am taking it to the extreme? Oh and I also learned that I don't like heat styling anymore. I just want to chuck the flat-iron, but it wasn't a cheapie, so I'll just hide it away deep in my closet! Thanks again for listening to me vent!
