How do I get the set with the curls/spiral just at the ends?

I have no idea. It's like the hair is smooth on top then ends in a little spiral or what I call a "boing". Can I do a ponytail set? I really want to start wearing this style. TIA!

try orange or gray flexi rods. set them vertically, but part your hair at the top the way you'd like to wear it. do the set on dry hair, with a bit of leave-in and serum at the ends to help them set. works for me

I suck at flexi rods! Is there another way?

bigger perm rods. try setting on damp hair overnight with a cap. It works for me. Put some oil on the ends too.
