How long shoud I wait before relaxing my hair?

How long should I wait before a relaxer?

I have a sew in but the cornrows are done with my own hair. I should be able to get a relaxer as soon as I remove them right? because I know in other cases, when the cornrows are done with synthetic hair, the individual has to wait a while to get a relaxer.

Ive heard to wait a week or too after taking out braids, cornrows, w/e to relax, cause the scalp is sooo sore and sensitive after u take out the braids. I didnt know this back in the day and would take out weave, relax and put it back in all in 24 hrs :/ I mean granted I didnt lose ne hair but it was the most painful experience ever.
