How long should you keep baids in your hair?

Hey guys, I got braids almost 2 weeks ago. I'm really lovin' it and I'm applying S-curl spray to my hair and braid sheen to my scalp like some of you guys have mentioned on here. My braid stylist said that I could leave them in (Senegal Twists) for 2-3 months. I was going for 2 but my co-worker said that she leaves hers in for 3 months. What do you guys do? This is my first time having braids so I'm not sure. It would be nice to get 3 months out of them. I am volleying between going natural and relaxed so in the meantime, my hair can get a break. What would you all who've had braids suggest?

maximum 3 months. with frequent washing in between

I don't go past 8 weeks. Usually though its 6 weeks tops.

If you are wearing human hair for braids, it should be 2-3 months. If your are wearing just your regular hair (not fake hair) then every 2 weeks.

i usually dont go past 6 weeks. this time i went 7 and had TANGLES!
in high school i used to go 2-3 months no problem.

I go 2 months.. with box braids..when i got micros (which werent all that micro about alittle smaller than a regular box braid ) i went 3months..and came out fine
