I'm doing a touch up this weekend and I'm debating on whether to switch. I used Mizani Butter Blends the last time and it did nothing for me. I think I know what the problem might have been but I'm willing to give it another shot. If they don't have it I will have to get something else. I will probably try another Mizani relaxer but I'm not 100% sure.

I don't switch relaxers because I'm afraid to. I have had good results with my Motions w/ oil and that's what I stick to. I have found that other relaxers leave me underprocessed or my hair just turns out like its retarded. HTH.

I used to use Motions for a while and it worked find but after a while I would get under processed.

I didn't vote because I haven't switched lately, the last year, as I like what I am using now.
Before I used to switch every few years though.
Now that I a relaxer I like and how it processes my hair I don't see myself switching anymore.

I switch with every touch up :look:

I just CANNOT stick to the same product/routine cause I get super bored super quick, plus I always think that I can find something better :perplexed

However, the relaxer before last, I used Silk Elements and LOVED it. I'm gonna use it again when I touch up on Monday. This is the first time in history that I've used the same relaxer twice! But I still don't wanna stick to SE till I've tried Phyto, Syntonics, Doo Gro and a few Dominican relaxers (and this list will probably keep growing) :ohwell:

Since you switch often do you find that in general there isn't much of a difference with the relaxers you used? Or if there? I found a tub of Butter Blends so I'm going to stick with that for a while.

I definitely notice the differences with each relaxer. ORS and CON were the WORST! Silk Elements, Dr.Miracles and the Pink Lotion (I throw out the little bottle of Pink Lotion though  ) relaxers have been my faves so far, with SE miles ahead of the other two.

Okay I just saw the option - every few years.

I can't say that I was using Profectiv years ago. I used to only use another but my hair started getting too flat after toughups. After using Profectiv I realize my hair has done better and stayed thicker, so I have been sticking with it for a while now.

I don't plan on changing, now that I have found one that works for me.

I voted every few years but I think it's more like every 2 years or so. I hated Mizani no-lye for sensitive scalp-thinned my hair badly, but I did like the regular mizani lye relaxer. I did like ORS regular lye relaxer too. The next one I will try is Design Essentials lye relaxer regular strength. I really want to try that one because it got great reviews here on lhcf.

ETA: My stylist did use Affirm regular lye on my hair before and it broke off some of my hair in the front of my head. So that one is a nono for me.

I honestly don't give switching that much though. A few months after joining LHCF I began using Mizani, now I'm using the Mizani butter blend. Neither of the Mizani relaxers are strong (IMO), but they're good for my texlaxing:grin:. If it's not working for you, I say just go ahead and switch, before you end up having to do a corrective or something.

ETA: both Mizani's that I've tried are lye.

glad to finally hear someone else complain about ORS relaxer!
