How to cover all Grey hair???

Can anyone offer suggestions on how to color all grey hair without using permanent color?? I have a friend who is having trouble finding a solution to this.

I had good results with L'Oreal Colorspa, a semipermanent color. I used the black and it's a true, deep black without looking fake. I used it about three weeks ago and I still have great color and only a couple of grays poking through, even after a touch-up.

Clairol Natural Intincts in Midnight black. I'm currently trying to decide on this or a Clairol Textures and Tones in dark brown. I know that the CNI works and lasts. It says semipermanent, but it acts like a permanent. Perhaps it's what's called a demi-permanent. I had a thread about this color awhile back.

Rinses wash our too fast and can be messy and drippy.
