Does sun-in work on African American hair types? I know it worked on some of my caucasian friends, you spray it in your hair and the sun lightens it

I don't know if it's possible to lighten African American hair naturally with products such as lemon juice/sun-in because those products are very drying. A rinse isn't going to lighten your hair because you need something that's going to "lift" the color.
I know an AA woman who successfully used lemon juice to lighten her hair.

Have you thought about possibly using Henna? I wanted to lighten my hair slightly to a reddish tone and it worked for me...

My aunt has used the Sun-In spray and lemon juice, also, to lighten her hair. She had subtle highlights, which, is what she wanted anyway.
