I did my first rollerset today. I am now officially self sufficient. I do not need to go to the hair dresser for anything. I can relax, rollerset, trim, style, and even do a corrective.. Holla.. I think today was also an awakening for my dh, he said babe you hair looks and smells beautiful.

Ladies, my hair was swanging. It was bouncy full.. It felt wonderful. I am proud of myself... My only mistake was to use Aveda hairspray, which made my hair hade so some hair came out when I combed.

Product used: Lacio Lacio, alot of water, olive oil, and a little lottabody..

I am excited.. Sorry I said that already.

In the end I combed my hair into my protective style.. LOL

ETA: Here is the joke of the day, so when my dh saw my hair, he said wow babe remember when you could rollerset your hair with rice.. LOL. I guess that was suppose to be a compliment

I'm not totally self sufficient but once i started using lacio lacio i knew i wasn't gonna go back to the salon for a rollerset. that stuff is the truth for rollersets. glad your hair came out good.

You go girl :) congrats to you! I strongly believe that no one can take care of your hair like you can!!

Congratulations, girl!!!!! Wanna share how you gave yourself a trim?

I wanna trim my own hair, so there's nothing for my stylist to cut :ohwell:

Yup, please share-I was wondering the same thing-Oh and congrats on being "FREE"

Hooray for you! Glad you had the swang going on. I did a roller set tonight too, all to put in a bun for tomorrow.

Congrats, I love hearing stories llike this. I want to learn to be completly self sufficient too. Relaxers, rollersets, trims, cornrows. I'm on a mission to learn how to do everything myself!:)

Wow that's great!! Hopefully I can suck it up and become a DIY'er!!! :)

Congratulations!!! I'm hoping to be where you are as soon as I learn how to do my own trims and touch ups. I have the rollersetting down pat (using the snap on magnetic rollers). If only I could master rollersetting with the duckbill clips.

Oops, I'm sorry this thread isn't about me. Congratulations again girl!

Way to go!! I am still on the journey to get there.

It is hard to explain , how I trim.. I do it just like the stylist, however since I take good care of my hair I really don't have splits(knocks on wood). The last time I trimmed was amlost 6 months ago. I trim about twice a year but I know there are some links with ladies who go step by step with trimming. I will find it the thread and post.

I still haven't gotten the rollerset down yet, but I'm going to keep trying!.... I need to learn how to do something else, other than make a cute bun!! :look:

Yeah my dh thinks he is so funny... Just keep trying, I know when I first did rollerset the roller were to big and I could not handle it.

:lachen: Too funny! I guess he's seen improvements too!

Magnificent girl! I'm working to get to that level. I can rollerset and just did my first self relaxer in June, but I still rely on a trusted friend or family member to trim me when I need it.
