Ladies,

I am in praise of the Lord first of all...I give a shout to him because he is GOOD! Now, last week I had really begun to sink my teeth into Neem oil and horsetail butter. I thought my hair was soft because it was softer with those items than anything else I have tried and there is a long line of dead moisturizing casualties littered along my hair care journey. Neem and Horsetail with rosewater had been a survivor. But my hair wasn't soft, uhmmm, it was NEAR TO BEING SOFT. I am running my mouth but now, Lord, now I am in PRAISE OF QHEMET BIOLOGICS OLIVE OIL AND HONEY HYDRATING BALM!!!!! halelujah, haleluuuuujah!!!! Ladies I feel like I am straight bald. I keep touching my hair to see if anything is there. It is sooooo soft and light I just can't believe it. For the first time in my hair's life excluding maybe birth, my hair has found its soulmate in Qhemet Biologics! Just wanted yall to share in my hairexperience!

Peace and blessing to you all!

I loooooooooooove Honey Balm! It's my staple moisturizer, never found anything to compare and probably never will :yep: The scent, the consistancy, the color... I love everything about it! And how it makes my hair feel?

I'm so glad that you have Honey Balm in your life! How long have you been using it?

Giiiiirl, I think its gonna be my staple too! I know its good because it cured my problem on the very first application! My hair has been baby soft for the last 2 days on just one use!!! I am glad I have somebody with me that loves it too...I want to shout it from the rooftops. Just curious, what is your hair type? I think I am 4b but not sure. All I know is that my hair is STILL shoutin!

:yep:

I love Qhemet products too! I'm glad their working for you, the olive and honey is definently my favorite.:yep:

That stuff is the truf! I remember when I first baggied with it. When I took my hair down, I was like  I could NOT keep my hands out of my head!

I think I'm 4a, maybe? The whole hair typing thing confuses the crap outta me!

Now THAT is a great review and you are a great writer -- I am not trying to buy anything else, and I want some!

How long have you been using them? Have they ever let you down? I am so scared that after a while, my hair will start pimping me..wanting, needing and reaching for something else but for right now...its thirst most definitely and undeniably has been satiated!

The first thing I want to say is you have Great taste in Avatars. I absolutely love that illustration. Next, thank you for your lovely review! What is working as a staple moisturizer for you? I think I can leave the 12 step program (halfway house for hair junkies) at least I am PRAYING that the honey balm will suffice. The only thing I know is that NOTHING I have tried including phyto products have given me this effect and I have shelled some dollars out there! Joico became a casuality, Phyto (well not all of their stuff)...dead in the water, ORS...shot down in mid air....Cantu....can't do! So whatever you have if it is working for you I say let the HEALING begin! Get in touch with your inner junkie! Halleluuujah!

not saying Im buying it.. but Ummmm is this something aa PJ can find easily in BSS? Walmart or is it from a certain online seller??

and yeah, an ingredient list would help

Im glad ya liked it so much

Ladies

what's in the hydrating balm?

tia,
tishee

I can read your mind girl, I already tried to make a batch today.... Why, if it gives me such great results you might ask? CAUSE IT GIVES ME SUCH RESULTS! ( I know I can't hold out long on $16 for an 8 oz jar long) So listen up, here's how I did it, now it took me 3 tries to get the consistency right but here it is ingredients and all:
Olive and Honey Hydrating Balm by Qhemet Biologics:

Pure Olive (Olea Europa) Oil,
Pure Sesame (Sesamum Indicum) Oil
Pure Grapeseed (Vitis Vinfera) Oil,
Vegetable Glycerin,
Vegetable Emulsifier
Pure Wildflower Honey,
MSM Sulfur (Methyl-sulfonylmethane)
Vitamin E (mixed tocopherols)
Fragrance

Home Version

1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1/4 cup of sweet almond oil
1/4 cup of avocado oil (use any oils you want though)
1/2 teaspoon of vitamin E
1 Tablespoon of pure honey
3 tablespoons of the hard block kind of beeswax...a pain to break up!
don't have any MSM so I used Bergamot (15 drops) Neroli (20 drops) Rosemary (20 drops) and Rose Geranium (15 drops) essential oils
2 tablespoons of vegetable glycerin mixed with honeyquat
1 tablespoon of vegetable emulsifier
fragrance came from the essential oils..nice and clean smelling.

Place all the oils, beeswax and emulsifiers into a double boiler or if you have a pot that you can place another pot into thats fine. If you are using the pot system, add water to the bottom pot and let it boil then add your oils into the top pot and let them melt down that way. Once all oils have melted, remove from heat and let sit for a minute. Add in your glycerin and essential oils or MSM and honey. Stir well and place into a container with a lid before it cools! If you don't it will start forming right there in your pot!

You will have a very light cream, the consistency is a light hair food type of feel..you have seen the jars of yellow hair food right?
It is not the same color as the honey balm from Qhemet but the "feel" is good so far. I put it on my hair and though its not quite the real thing, it is darn close! This is my first try so I will be attempting to perfect it as time goes on. Ok, hope this explained things for ya!

I want to know where you can buy it too. Great reveiw.

Got ya an alternative my sista! If you look at my last post, you will see my attempt at a recipe...tried it on my hair today and I am STILL shoutin...though with not as much intensity but nevertheless, still shoutin!
:grin::grin:

I'm on my 3rd month of using qhemet products and I'm really liking it. I was attracted to their more natural ingredients. I tend to get tired of products but I try to stick to my rule of finishing a product before buying a new one. After washing/condish or just cowashing, I seal my hair with the olive and honey. Detangling is very easy with it and once my hair is dry it's super soft. Currently I'm on my 13th week of stretching and I can still keep a simple regiman.

I should add that I never wash out all of my conditioner which I also think is key to my results.:yep:

Yes I did! You don't play.:lachen:

I don't really use too much of the olive and honey. Let me explain how:

I wash and condition my hair in 4 braids. Then I undo each braid and take a dab of olive and honey with my finger, rub my hands together, apply and detangle that section. When I'm done detangling, I put my hair in one braid, take a dab to smooth my edges and tie it up with a satin scarf till the next morning or till half dry. I figure since I never really go to a hairdresser and since I'm on my 3rd month of using this and I still haven't used half of the jar then it's worth the price.

But trust me if I had all those ingredient in my house I would double broiling away on my stove right now!

I feel ya girl! I might have to follow your routine with the braids and how you wash your hair soon. I am just completing my 14th week post relaxer and so far I am not in trouble but the coming weeks hold such mystery!

Good job! I usually stretch for 3-4 months. I notice when I'm not braiding before washing my hair during the latter part of my stretch, I lose so much hair.:nono:

I have 4a texlaxed hair that loves to bunch up together and coil/curl and it shrinks up quickly while it dries. The braids prevent it from both drying to fast and coiling up, I highly recommend it as you continue to stretch.

Ok, so I just ordered some samples from them a week ago and I didn't order the Honey Hydrating Balm. :perplexed

Poor Baby! :ohwell: but you know what, I use to just brush off products with honey in them before I tried them. I thought to myself "why would honey be able to do anything for hair"?? I thought I would be walking around looking like Broomhilda by the head! But it seems as if honey is a pretty good moisturizing agent!

:lachen:I guess the word balm threw me off, grrrr.

Hmmm... what is working as a staple for me right now? Nothing that has me shouting. But I do I have a little satisfaction with JF Lazartigue Protective hair Cream and Fekkai Smooth Hair Hydrating Cream if I am wearing my hair straight. Jane Carter Nourish and Shine is my all around favorite for saving my ends and keeping my hair moisturized but I'm always afraid to use too much and weigh my hair down. I plan to let my inner junkie free at the end of the year and the honey balm will be at the top of my list.

Thanks for the Avatar compliment. I think about changing it from time to time but I haven't found any illustrations that I like as much.

Since I was so ignorant on the benefits of honey and knew just a little about olive oil, I thought I would share my findings with you all and if you follow my posts, you know what's coming next..... The "HERE"S WHY"!

Honey is great for your skin and hair. It has the ability to attract water from the air making it a wonderful moisturizer. It is also safe for sensitive skin. Honey is composed of sugars like glucose and fructose and minerals like magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium chlorine, sulphur, iron and phosphate.

Honey has powerful antimicrobial properties and because of its natural anti-inflammatory effect, it also helps to heal wounds more quickly. It also has different photochemical found in plants that kill viruses, bacteria, and fungus. It contains vitamins B1, B2, C, B6, B5 and B3 all of which comes from the nectar and pollen the bees gather. Honey also contains small quantities of copper, iodine, and zinc. Many vegetable hormones are also present in it. Studies show that burns also heal better with honey.

The advantage of honey is that it not only prevents infections from occurring, it actually accelerates skin healing. It gives hair body and shine, but if you dye your hair, keep in mind that honey does have a mild lightening effect.

Olive oil is very useful for dry, damaged hair. massage a few tablespoons of olive oil into your scalp and cover with a plastic bathing cap. Let the oil set for 30 minutes or more, and then shampoo. This treatment will help repair split ends, heal dandruff, and will make your hair incredibly shiny. Mediterranean women have been using olive oil for hair care for centuries because of its amazing ability to make the hair healthy. To have beautiful, lustrous, shiny, silky and dandruff free hair, olive oil is a great choice.

Your recipe sounds yummy!:lick: I'm going to try this after I remove my Kinky Twists. Thanks for sharing!:urock: Subscribing...

How is this on your hair if you're natural"?

So far so good, I am not quite a natural yet but I am 14 wks post relaxer for the first time in my life. I had been trying some of everything to keep my hair soft since it is going through withdrawl symptoms from no perm and this has been the only thing that did the trick with a vengeance! Have you been a natural for long? Let me know if you end up trying it and it works for you. That would make my hustlin a worthy cause (smile) !!!

Just wanted to let you know that I did a test on my DH head...same results, silkyness all the way through and this is with the home version. Now I am not saying that I have a hit or anything but if you want to save some cash I think this recipe is on point! If you end up trying it pweeease let me know how it turned out, I really want to know if I am foolish or if this stuff works..ha ha! Oh and if you do the recipe and have any suggestions, let me know about that too we can do this thang!!!:grin:
