I have Highlight Pictures!

Hey folks last week I got highlights at the spur of the moment. I let my friend do them she used the cap and needle to pull my hair through. I used Dark n Lovely Blonde Color. I plan to get more color after a few months IF my hair can handle it. I got them subtle becasue I didnt want a HUGE change just yet :) Tomorrow I am putting in a clear celophane Rinse by Sebastians to help lock in the color and add more shine. I had to completely change my hair regimen to accomodate the highlights. I REFUSE to have breakage :rofl:

They (the highlites, lol) are beautiful. Yet another head of natural hair to admire. :)

Thank you! Yep I had to bleach thats why I was so afraid to do it. I wanted a rinse but I knew that I would have to get a booster in order for the color to show since my hair is nearly jet black. So I just said "why not" and went along with it. I got the permenent color by Dark& lovely in blonde. The lady on the box has plaitinum blond hair but I didnt want it that light :rofl: Im excited becasue now I can get the rinses in what ever color I want! I cant wait :)

I've been :sekret: wanting highlights FOREVER!!! (( BUT )) I'm farrrr too chicken to get 'em (after my last color disaster 15 yrs ago).

Ur hair is BEAUUUU- T- FULLL!!!!!

how did you know yours wouldnt turn out platinum like the lady on the box??
 
I love the color! And your curlies are just gorgeous. Dang, it's even harder to resist the urge to highlight.

Well since my hair is nearly jet black, you can watch the color strip as it turns to the blonde color...I stopped after I saw the color that I wanted and rinsed it out before it could get any lighter :)

Well I threw away the Pantene Clarifying Shampoo cuz that strips the crap out of my hair...it was fine before I had the color, but now Im not taking any chances. Now I use Elucence Moisture Benefits Shampoo. Which is safe for color treated hair.

I still co wash everyday, except I use Elucence or Herbal Essences Fruit Fusions for Color Treated hair. After co washing I apply more conditioner and leave it in and then I seal my hair with oil. THEN after it drys about 80% I spray the biolage leave in tonic becasue it has sunblock in it. A lot of people warned me that the sun is the worse thing for highlights so Im trying to be cautious of that.

Before I only did protein treatments once a month, and now I have to do them once a week. Im using the Entensive Silk protein Repair treatment by Elucence. I cant deep condition with heat as often because that can cause the color to fade and give it that brassy dry/hay look.

And finally just a few minutes ago I finished applying my clear cellophane rinse By Sebastians. Supposedly that it supposed to keep the color from lifting, seal the cuticle, and add intensive shine as well.

Im hoping that my hair doesnt suffer. We shall see :)
