I love my hair but... vent ahead

First let me say, I love my hair I really do. It is thick, it is strong, it grows like crazy without a lot of help I can't complain. Well I guess I can. I am just tired yall. I love being natural but darn the longer it gets, the longer it takes. Add to that, the fact that I have 3 other natural, long haired heads to do and I am pooped. I am seriously considering texturizing but the thought of it makes me sad. I feel bad and ashamed that I would do that to my hair. I guess because I NEVER thought I would consider being anything but natural.

My natural anniversary is coming up in November and it will be 6 years. I made it to brastrap and then did a BC in October 2005 and now I am almost there again. It was easier before because my girls' hair wasn't such a big task but now they all have hair down their backs, with 3 different textures and I take very good care of their hair. That leaves little time for me to do much to mine. Right now I am rocking braids but I would love to do more but it just takes too much time. I don't know. I just feel like I will be selling out personally if I went another route. I just wish I could find something that will help me to detangle, style and manage it a lot quicker. I use all the techniques like, washing in sections, ACV rinses, you name it and it has helped but it is still a chore. I don't know because I know most people would kill for my hair but I am going crazy with it. I just needed to get that off my chest. Thanks for listening. Q

Its gonna be okay Queeny. Don't feel like you betrayed yourself if you do decide to texurize. Do what works for you. If it will make your life easier than go ahead. I do sometime worry about how much time my hair takes me. I spend atleast 5 hours a week under my dryer and lets not even talk about detangling more than 4 weeks post. :nono:

I have nothing to add.....

I just want to say how beautiful your hair is. We will support you whatever your decision is. Your lil girls are so adorable! I hope the best for you.

Thank you. I just feel so bad for even complaining. I am grateful for this board because I have been reading a lot of old posts and am going to try some other things first. If I choose to texturize, I will only do it about 3 times a year. Thanks again. Q

Do what you feel you need to do Q...I have given you props for a long time for dealing with those 3 beautiful heads of hair and how they always look nice. I can pretty much imagine after dealing with them, you just dont have the energy to even think about doing your own hair. I'm sure you will be happy with your decision whatever it may be.

Thanks girlie. I know you feel me because you have seen them up close and in person so you know what I have to deal with. I was just feeling like I was letting myself down by not staying natural but I think being texturized will allow me to still have a lot of my curl but also make it easier for me to manage. Q
