She is wrong. There are conditioning agents that can clean the hair. There are some (like centrimonium chloride) that can even remove cones.
 
I cowashed a summer through and went from barely APL to BSB. I don't know what she is talkin' about.

Maybe it doesn't work for HER hair. Don't speak for me....I got this.

When I used to cowash I did get good growth. I'm not sure what she is talking about, but it's not a bad system. I stopped because it doesn't agree with me, but the odds are really against her statement.

I used to get horrible buildup from cowashing so I learned I have to use some type of shampoo with every wash and I need to spray oil on my scalp before I use any conditioner otherwise I get immediate buildup but everybody's different. It works for some but not others.
