My mom has soft, fine hair. I would classify it as type 3 hair. She wants to know why does your hair grow long on one side than the the other. She's had lop-sided hair for a while. So please chime in ladies....:yep::yep::yep:

P.S. She's relaxed

Do to the dynamics of the body she could be unknowingly treating one side differently. Also wrapping your hair in the same direction or wearing the same style that applies tension in one spot. That also applies to product dispersion. Most peopel I know rub "X" product int her hands and slap it right on top of thier head, missing the sides and back and all the hair in between. Tell her to try wrappign her hair differently or making sure she combs the shorter side with the same aptience she does with the longer side. If all else fails her hair JUST MAY grow like that. Mines doesnt grow at the same rate but its not a drastic difference.

The other side is not breaking off is it? I know alot of ladies say that it seems like their hair grows faster in some areas than others.

:yep: I agree with what the PP said, she may lie on that side more or wear a style the same way (on one side) all the time for example a side part- also I think most people's hair does grow lopsided

I am glad your mom is receptive . I mention LHCF and she is like:rolleyes::ignore:

Anyway, I am in the same boat as her and I was always taught that it is because of circulation. I sleep on my right so my left side is thicker and grows faster. I try to sleep on the other side, but I always end up on the right. I also use products to stimulate growth, like lenzi's request, natural oasis, etc.. I try to be really careful with my hair and I trim off as little as necessary when I get trims. If she can blend the hair, I would just try to grow it out to a point where she feels it is ok to even it up. Maybe try something on the shorter side to stimulate more growth to catch up. Sorry I can't be of more help, because long ago I just accepted that my hair has always been like that and probably always will be. My mama's hair is like that too.

Like the ladies have said:
Sleeping on one side more than the other and circulation

Whether she's left or right handed and how careful is she about combing. I realized that since I'm right handed I tend to comb my right side more than the left side as well as how I apply my products.

Another thing would be when applying the relaxer - which side does she relax first? It's important not to always relax in the same spot.

Just a few things to be mindful of. I sure there may be more so...
