If I Pre-Poo and CoWash, Do I Still Need to DC?

Hi Ladies,

I currently wash my hair 2 times a week. I pre-poo with ORS Hair Mayo for about 5-10 minutes and then I co-wash with Le Kair Shea Butter. Do I still need to DC for 10 -15 mins afterwards? My choices would be for with Elasta QP DRP-11 or a GVP Conditioning Balm w/ heat. After this, I would be roller setting my hair with some kind of moisture/water/leave-in (think Lacio, or Hawaiian Silky 14/1) and getting under the dryer for about 40 minutes.

What do you all think?
Thanks!

I would say yes because, DC provides the extra or deeper nourishment that regular conditioner does not provide. Maybe you should prepoo with the LeKair Shea Butter mixed with an oil like Coconut Oil and then use the Hair Mayo w/ heat for a deep conditioner.

Hope this helps :)

Oh yes.

-The pre poo is the prep prior to the wash
-The co wash is washing/removing dirt and most of the conditioner gets washed down the drain.
-The DC, w/heat, penetrates the shaft, adds moisture and gives love.

I think if you pre-poo with heat as a dc then you should not have to dc after you cowash. it's not as though you are shampooing and stripping the hair. also, remember to be careful with cones if you are not shampooing.

i always DC with heat before i wash/cowash, so i guess that would be considered a prepoo of sorts. i would agree with sandyrabbit - if you prepoo with heat with any of those before you cowash, i think that would be sufficient.

Thank you ladies! I appreciate all of your responses

I guess the short answer is that I am definitely going to DC w/heat using the Hair Mayo (which I do like) or any of the other products...Ok that question is answered!!!

Do you all have any other suggestion for any other DCs other than the Hair Mayo, Elasta, GVP Balm in that same price point...I'm poor with my serious PJ self!! :lachen:

Now I would definitely prefer to DC before I co-wash but is there a difference if I do it prior to cowashing or after? I know some ladies think it will be just fine, I just want to be sure...:spinning: Thanks so much!!
