If I wash my hair how long do I wait for a relaxer

I wanted to do my last co wash today, but I plan on getting a relaxer friday or saturday. I was wondering would that be okay. I've heard if you wash your hair and get a relaxer the next day or two it will burn.

I've Co washed and relaxed the next day, BIG MISTAKE, If I CO wash and will get a relaxer in the following few days, I protect my scalp with A and D Ointment. That way, my scalp is not so sensitive.

i'd wait as long a possible. i've been relaxing for about 14 years now and i've found that my relaxers always take better with my hair being dirty (build up from grease and oils).

I've often washed and relaxed 2-3 days after. As a matter of fact I'm washing tonight and will be relaxing thursday or friday.
