An extremely light strawberry blonde. I haven't posted here in ages the last time was when Old School burnt out my hair on purpose and I had to sue the salon. Since then I have been just wigging and bunning. Then a friend told me some life changing news and I decided since I have been wanting to bleach my hair for the summer for years that I would finally do it and if I don't like it it's just hair I can change it. My hair was not natural when I bleached it. It was lightly texturized with a wave nouveau. The goal is WHITE or Ultimate Platinum hair. It is a two step process this is the result from step 1 and I will do step 2 in 2wks. People keep saying blonde hair is dry but my hair doesn't feel any different than normal. We shall see
Current situation:

COLOR GOAL: STORM X-MEN

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You have my dream color! I'm sooooo jelly. What brand color did you use? What do you plan on doing on step 2? Did you go to a professional or was it DIY?

Details please! !!

I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Details please! !!

It was DIY I used One n Only from Sally's I had a box color but my neighbor said it wouldn't lift my hair. She does hair and her short curly white fro was the look I was going for color wise. I returned it and used the same thing she used. It was on my hair for over an hour close to 1.5hrs. I did it let it sit for about 30min then asked her to come look at it too see if I should rinse. When she came over she was like o_O You missed some spots in the back and they are still BLACK. So I rinsed and she hit the spots I missed and then hit the front again as well. I used a cap to speed the process but she said I should have used a bonnet dryer. I rinsed and this is what I got. For step two I'm using the same process and rinsing when I have white hair like Rita Ora pictured above. I was scared because I had orange hair at one point. She asked if I had a black rinse before I told her no I just have BLACKETY BLACK BLACK HAIR :afro:. I'm cool with orange sherbet hair for 2 wks. Then Storm status :kiss3:

I spent about $30 for everything vs the $200 I was quoted from a salon. I don't really trust salons so I went for the DIY/phone a neighbor option. I'm surprised she helped me up until I saw her in the parking lot that day she was a complete stranger :sekret:

I'm probably not going to Wave Nouveau any more because I like the thickness of my roots vs ends and the peroxide in the product texturizes my hair.

What did your neighbor use? Was it bleach? I have been trying for that color since Jan. My problem is that I had dyed my hair soooo many different colors. I finally used bleach, but it didn't take on the majority of my hair but it did lift it two levels. I think I may have to go to a professional to get your color. Are you going to tone the color? Mines turned alittle orangey but I used Silvers toning shampoo and condition and it helped toned it down.

I'm excited!! I cant wait to see how your hair turns out after the second process.

She used One 'n Only as well the powder and the developer only no color just bleach in 2 steps. I was told to use purple shampoo to take out the brassiness.

Wow! It looks golden in the first picture but it looks platinum already in the second picture. I can't wait to see step two! I finally broke down myself a few months ago and did some blond highlights! So I know how exciting and fun it can be. Why did we wait so long? LOL Have fun!!! And work that hair girl you look good!

well thank you  The difference is flash vs no flash it looks lighter with no flash parts of my hair are almost there. I don't think it will take long and I'm going to have an extra set of hands on deck for step two.

If you DIY start with the ends of all of your hair then go from 1in from the root to where you started on the ends then do the roots last they will process faster start from the middle of your head and work to the edges

Wow you are a brave soul, you did a great job with the color, it came out so even, I achieved the storm color a few years ago on my hair but I did it with temporary spray on hair color. It was super fun and I took mad pics lolol now I'm on the hunt for a really good storm wig, I'm either gonna make it or buy a good one.

I love it!!! Are you worried about overprocessing your hair seeing as you already have a texturizer?

I would love to dye my hair more but since my texturizer I've kinda forgot about it. I bleached a section of it at the side. It was already been henna'd and then I put and texturizer in and so far its still healthy but overall my hair is on the fragile side in general.

Step two completed deciding if I will stay here or do step 3 and be white like Storm I'm probably doing it again in dec

I'm worried about it but I'm not. I don't want it to melt off but at the same time even though I had a WN i always under process it because I don't like thin or bone straight hair. Underprocessing keeps my hair thicker. my roots are thick and were basically natural and the WN parts went almost completely straight.

**the peroxide cured my dermatitis** yay no itching or large flakes or scabs :woot:

It looks goooood!!! I love this color. You are so brave to do this yourself! So, how do you feel with this hair color now? Did you get a new outfit to go with it?? I usually do that when I change my hair, lol.

Aww it's more that I was cheap than brave. I figured if it was going to fall out I wasn't going to pay a premium for it. My hair has always done better when it was cared for at home vs the salon. lol it's funny because i don't feel any different but looking at my hair in the brush makes me pause. i forget about it until somebody stares at me. i think they are trying to figure out if it is my hair or not. I feel like with this hair color i need to get my skin, my weight and my life together. I was trying to spark some change by doing it.

My skin really needs to be on fleek and I always need eyebrows. This was true b4 but i feel like people will look more because a black blonde is so rare especially this light. With all the wigs and weaves in the world we still usually avoid blonde.

Yes!! I love that statement. I always hear older women say that when a woman wants change, she will always start with her hair :yep: It's looking good, so you are off to a good start, hunty!!!

You inspired me...I need some change in my life too. I probably won't go blonde, but I think I'm going to start with my hair. I need to give this some thought....

right now my ish is f'd up i'm living below my abilities my aptitude etc i been depressed for years functioning but majorly f'd up and i refuse to keep living like that. i'm always letting folk down they think i'm great then when i don't exude my greatness they lose interest.

So I've decided to let myself be great.

LOVE this! I want to reward myself with highlights after my transition is over. What changes have you made in your regimen because of the color?

@PretteePlease , your hair looks AMAZING!!!! I didn't realize that your hair was texlaxed. Ur giving me hope that maybe I can be blonde and go back to texlaxing. How has your reggie changed?

Did you lighten your eyebrows too.

Only change to the reggie is no wig. I moisturize and twist most of the time. I only straightened it because i wanted to length check i haven't straightened much this year. Now that it is straight i wrapped last night and oil sheened this am. I will snip a few splits and moisturize and bun or twist. Don't want the dreaded dry hair from bleach I keep getting warned about.

I fill my brows but no bleach

I HAVE A MAJOR HEADACHE AND I BLAME THE BLEACH SEEPING INTO MY HEAD AND BREATHING THE POISON CHEMICALS NO STEP 3.
