MSM is a form of sulphur and a lot of ladies on here take it......I dont know if it helps with growth but i know it helps reduce shedding and makes hair softer and more manageable

"so am i right in thinking that MSM is the tabel form of sulfur??"

uh, not exactly. MSM short for methylsulfonylmethane, is an organic form of sulfur *compound* easily absorbed and utilized by our bodies for tissue growth and maintenance. This is not the topical sulfur found in MTG, glovers and other hair products.
Do a search on MSM and you will find dozens of threads on the subject.

I agree with Brooke007. MSM is a sulfate. I believe pure sulfur is toxic to the body if ingested. Powdered sulfur can also burn the skin if not used carefully, in the case of adding it to hair oils/pomades.
