Iron helps fibroids ?

Iron helps me gain back hemoglobin loss from fibroids. Zinc and Vit.C, helps my intestines absorb the iron better than just taking the iron alone.

Awesome info, gymfreek, thank you!

I was just talking to a friend of mine today about the great benefits of the stuff "we" take, even outside of their hair, skin and nail benefits. We are gonna be some healthy, sexy gals with flowing locks! :)

I have been taking zinc for about 3 weeks and I have seen an incredible improvement in my acne. I didn't post about it because I wanted to give it more time before I posted rave reviews.

That brought on a flashback. When I was 15 I had bible study with these two ladies. One told me how she used to have horrible acne and had tried EVERYTHING known to man but finally had success with zinc.

I wonder if there's zinc in Nature's Cure because that's what saved my skin.

I'll have to check.

Thanks for sharing Gymfreak!!

Thank you so much for sharing this information. I'm off to Whole Foods in the morning...

Interesting...I get more than enough sleep (sometimes 10-12 hours ). Biotin never did anything for me as far as growth :ohwell: but I read about zinc and iron from Cathy Howse's book. My multi-vitamin as well as the hair vitamins I used to take had adequate amounts of zinc but I never took zinc as a stand alone supplement before.

Hmm, take the zinc at night. I have been taking mine in the morning because it says to take with food. Off to research.

Oh, the zinc I take is 50mg I belive.

Thanks for the info

This adds weight to those people who suffer with acne and rub sudocream onto the zits to calm them down, and it does work as I use it.
Sudocreams active ingredient is Zinc

My doctor told me to rub the sudocream into the spot, then rub over the spot with an ice cube as it helps the active ingredient penetrate the skin more easily.

It really does reduce the redness overnight.

I may start taking zinc orally as well.

With zinc, its best not to exceed 100mg a day. For healthy hair/skin benefits, 22.5mg (I think that is the standard amount when you buy it in pill form) is enough. Many nuts also contain zinc and told me to eat nuts as a snack too. Take your zinc at night. He recommended taking it at night and another lady here posted some info on how to take vitamins and her post affirmed that too.

thanks for sharing!!!
and good point gymfreak any more than 100 mg of zinc a day
actually depresses the immune system
and can aggravate acne so the above recommendation is helpful!

Thanks for sharing that info! :)

Well, I guess that means that it's time to get a couple of z's... some Zinc and some

Very informative. Thanks! Man, no wonder I feel like my hair is crawling sometimes, its probably because of lack of sleep. Work now a days has me up almost 24/7. Off to the vitamin store I go!

My bf had an appointment to get his skin looked at and I tagged along. Dr. Woods took some samples and sent them to get looked at for a min. He said it would only take a mintue so we just sat in the office and talked for a min. I took out my vitamin baggie to take my biotin and bamboo since I just ate. He proceeded to ask me what I was taking and as you can guess, we started talking hair vitamins. He told me that I was on the right track but he suggested that I monitor my mineral intake, especially zinc. He said that many men and women don't get enough. He told me that many women don't get enough sleep which can interfere with hair growth since lack of sleep suppresses the immune system. Zinc helps stimulate the immue system. He told me to add just one zine tablet to my regime and take it before I go to be. He said that biotin is one of the gold standard skin and hair vitamins and that is the one he suggests to his patients the most. He stressed the flaxseed oil and I already take 1 tablespoon a day but suggested that I up it to two tablespoons for 6 months. He asks what products I use and I told him about boundless tresses. I have a really tempermental scalp and I get itchy outbreaks all the time. I told him that since I have been using it, my scalp doesn't flare up so bad and he said that sulfur (in low concentrations) calms many itchy and flaky skin and scalp issues. He was explaining that that is why many ol school remedies include pine tar because it has sulfur in it.

Just thought I share. Ask your doctor or dermatologist about what you are doing, you might be suprised at the response.

Thanks for sharing this valuable information. What did the doc say about the bamboo? I have been curious about this vitamin for a while. Thanks.

He didn't really say anything about it. He did say it was a good source of silica but nothing negative.
