I'm interested in knowing if there's any way to speed up my growth. I'm transitioning and so the faster my hair grows, the faster I can go and cut off all the texturized ends.

Are there any ladies who are getting over 3/4 an inch or more of growth a month? If so, what are you using? Is it products like Surge, rosemary EO or is it supplements? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

i wish...allthough this month i seem to be getting more new growth than ever........
it could be from the summer months or b/c i have been drinking lots of water as well aas more ecercise..and protien shakes, buy the end of this month i may have an inch..
 
I think I got close to 3/4 a month when I was using Biotin. I ran out and haven't gotten to re-purchase in a while, and I don't grow nearly as fast as I used to.
 
I'm adding biotin back for sure. I was going to get freeda biotin but when I went to the site I saw that it was d-biotin. From what I read on the boards, if there's a letter in front of the supplement, it means that it's synthetic. Am I right about that?
 
I did earlier in the summer when I :

* was on a strict no-sugar and no-caffeine diet (they work against your B vitamins)
* I had a high intake of protein shakes and bars
* I practiced a wash and go, constantly kept hair moist, and avoided heat

when i started low carbing my hair was never so beautiful!! and i think i got about an inch that month (which i subsequently lost to breakage cuz i didnt know how to take care of my hair then)

exactly how much biotin are we talking here?? the one a day carb smart has extra biotin, but i dunno if thats enough...

When I was taking biotin, my capsules had 5 mg. There's also biotin in my GNC Ultra Hair and in my b complex vitamins. I've never measured growth before but I'm going to start doing it so I can better track my progress.
 
@whosthatgurl: no supplements, no particular products? Has your hair always grown that fast?

I checked that out and I have my WGO, castor & coconut mixture now. I just wanted to know if there were any more tips I could find to help speed up the growth. My scalp is sensitive so Surge is out for me.
 
I've heard that people w/ sensitive scalp have experienced some severe flaking. A few had extremely irritated scalps. My scalp is very sensitive so I'd rather not risk a bad reaction. I have a sample of it that I'm too scurred to use.

As a former chemistry major, I'm going to guess that the 'D' indicates the D isomer of biotin (as opposed to the L isomer). That doesn't mean it's synthetic; it just means the two have been separated, whereas biotin is usually composed of a mixture of the two. Maybe the D isomer is broken down and used by our bodies better. ??? That's the only reason I can think of for separating them.
 
I know nothing at all about chemistry so I have no idea.

The only things I remembered was that there was a difference between d-biotin and biotin and that Freeda biotin was highly recommended.
 
I don't know how much new growth I'm getting, but I'm taking 10mg of biotin + what's in GNC's Ultra Nourish Hair. I'm taking all the Bargello recommended vitamins. Except the Protein shake. I bought it but my blender is somewhere in my garage?!L>KTL@#K$

I think I'm going to get 1" a month. I had a dream that my hair was at my bra strap. How promising right?

Anyway, I highly recommend the biotin.
 
I'm definately adding the biotin back, switching to MSM powder, adding enzymes, and adding a protein shake

i just keep it moisturized. i just strted using doo gro thicking growth oil and i just bought the stmulating growth oil today. i keep it moisterized with pink lusters gro-complex., proactve leave in moisturuzer, olive oil hair lotion. but i think that my hair does grow that fast.
 
I naturally grow about an inch a month but I always cut off 1/2 inch every 4 weeks so the growth doesn't show. I've been using Wild growth oil on my hair and my daughter's hair and both have grown. I cut my hair 2 weeks ago, the front was up to my shoulders and the back was about 2 inches past my neck. Now, the back of my hair has grown to my upper shoulder blades and the front is right at the collar bone. My daughter went from 1/2 inch of hair ( she's 1) to 2 inches in 2 weeks- I can finally cornbraid it! Do not walk- run and buy some wild growth oil. Beware, oil will run down your neck- bring plenty of tissues!

I've always gotten one inch a month- Before I joined this forum, I would get a touch up every 4-6 weeks because I got so much growth- The thing is my hair would shed and it was weak and lifeless.
I stayed on a high protein diet(that's all I did before)

Shes right, it doesnt mean its synthetic. I'm too lazy to do a search for you, though. I know with vitamin e, if it has the d- in front of it its natural and if it has the dl- its synthetic. I dont know what it stands for tho, or if it applies to all the products.

I am hoping to speed my growth up for the same reasons. I just added enzymes to take with my nourish hair. I have extra biotin and msm but I'm not adding it yet. I also have b-50 and one a day weight smart for extra B vitamins but I havent been taking any of it consistently.

how much biotn where you taking (mg's) and was this the only vitamin you took? i have to go to GNC this week and not sure what to get.
 
3/4-1 inch a month; 6mg biotin, co washes everyday (even in the winter), just started Surging a couple of months ago but only on my hairline, which grew back in like 2 weeks. I just put braid extensions in my hair and now I apply the surge to my scalp, because I want to see if that will maybe increase overall hair growth.
 
I've been getting about an inch per month. For about three months I've been consistenly taking the GNC Hair, Skin & Nails, my daily multiv-vitamin, drinking one glass of organic carrot juce per day, and of course drinking plenty of water. Not to mention eating a well balanced diet throughout. I've found that this regimen has help me yield stronger and faster growth than I've had before.

i drink myoplex protien shakes, and i have also started taking my biotin again..
