Check out this website....it has a list of how to videos on black hair. In one video she uses a liquid foaming pomade and puts her model under the dryer with her hair combed straight down.......her end result was smooth, straight hair (it almost looks flat ironed). Does anyone know of a product like this?

That video didn't come up for me but the stylist lost her credibility with me when she started to demonstrate blowdrying while the hair was wet with a damn brush  . Big no no in my book. The girl's hair looked like it was already bone straight so I always assume bone straight hair is going to dry straight regardless of what kind of product she was using. Just my 2 cents.

Her hair looks like its relaxed bone straight cuz while wet its bone straight.....Her hair dose look like its flat ironed even tho she was just dried under the dryer ...wow...

This video just doesn' t ring true to me.....the girls hair is at shoulder length, regardless of if her hair is relaxed bone straight or not, the ends that are resting on her shoulders should still have some sort of bend after it dried. It really looks as if her hair was flat ironed first.

Well, more than likely they didn't feel like sitting around for an hour or so while the lady dried under the dryer. She probably blowdried her and then staged it in order to save time and keep taping.

I think you must be relaxed bonestraight first and foremost before you can even achieve that style. Secondly I would LOVE to know what kind of pomade that is.

Is there anyway you can contact her?

No. 1 IF and I mean if her hair was able to dry under a hooded dryer that straight her hair is definately relaxed bone straight and is either freshly relaxed or 1-2 weeks post.

No. 2 This lady lost credibility with me on brushing the wet hair... and then she applied the flat iron count 'em.....ELEVEN times to the first section of hair :perplexed YIKES....

That lady won't be able to keep that head of hair doing THAT on a regular basis.

I see her phone number is listed, so I think I will give her a call this afternoon.:look:

I'm curious about the pomade she used too.

edited: I found the vids with some of the finished looks. I'm feelin' the straight look that was achieved by just combing down with the pomade.

Yea I agree with the previous poster who stated that certain things were staged for timing purposes for taping. But I do like the end results. Its full of body and shiny. Yes she flat ironed it a zillion time but maybe she knows what she is doing. But all in all good results.

Does anyone else think she looks like Jada?

That was what i thought at first until she said in the first video that the models hair is textured.

I think Paul mitchell has a liquid foamy pommade....i wonder if it is the same stuff?

i'm coming back to this thread later when i get home so i can bookmark that website.

That woman's hair was blowdried with a handdryer and brush, even IF it did dry that straight under a hooded dryer..with no neck strips to flatten the hair :ohwell: , did you see how it just bounced to the touch and was so shiney? Not possible, that hair would be PLASTERED down.

Bumping to see if L O L called yesterday to find out what the mystery product was.:)

I watched some of the videos and I wonder how the woman even has any hair with the rough handling of the stylist

I like that Piggyback technique. I wonder what it looks like when dry.

Untrue! My stylist in Atlanta would just comb my hair down, set me under the dryer and when I came out from under it is was almost as if I did not need a blow dryer, flat iron or curling iron b/c it would bounce and swing just like this woman's hair!

The women in Atlanta KNOW how to do hair and I have YET to find or witness anyone in any other state do hair like these ladies in Atlanta. Hair was healthy, thick and not breaking off either even after relaxing bone straight. Go figure!

I did too. I wrapped my hair like that after my wash and it was neater and easier to smooth out with less strands in the comb.
