Well ladies, I had done 7 years natural and then decided to get my hair relaxed with Phyto II. I had my relaxer done on Sept 9 th 2006.

Is it time for me to get a touch up? This week i noticed major breakage, and knots. It seems there is nothing i can do to make it stop and my NG... well when i sleek my hair back i can feel a lthat afro creeping back up.

I plan to use the half and half technique. If i mix my relaxer and activator. How much time do i have to use it completely?

How do i make sure that the relaxer doesnt go on the realxed part of my hair? So i just put some Sweet almond oil so that if the relaxer goes on that particular part it won't over process it. ( sorry i dont know if i make sense)

What about the smoothing out technique? Any tips?

****Please keep in mind this will be my first time doing a touch up.*****

It seems like this is almost 3 months so that should be enough time. With the breakage and knots-what products are you using? Are you combing and brushing frequently, what is your regimen?

In regard to sleeking your hair back, for me, its best if I dont try and do freshly relaxed styles on new growth hair, thats asking for trouble, i just leave my new growth alone and dont get any breakage between the two textures.

I assume your referring to a no-lye relaxer? If so, you have the maximum time to apply the relaxer to one section, check the box, the longer you leave it the straighter it will be so decide how straight you want it.

I have a detailed description in my fotki journal, i say practice with conditioner first to avoid any mistakes, once you have read it, feel free to ask any questions...
