I\'ve got updates w/ pics

hey ladies. well, i took my micros out 2 weeks ago and just got a touch-up last night. i lost soooo much hair it was ridiculous. of course the new stylist that i went to was trying to get me to get a hair cut etc etc, but i did not listen. i used to always listen to people telling me to get a cut and start over and all that...that's one of the reasons why i stayed at the same length for so long. anyways, what do Y'ALL think? i trust y'alls opinion more. Should I just cut off those ends? I'm doing the bun challenge and I hope to let it grow a little more before I cut. Check out my album below and let me know your thoughts please. Also - does it look like my hair grew?

I think your hair has definitely grown. It's thicker if anything. The only time I trim (not cut) my hair is if the ends are uneven (and they always are) or if my ends are dry and brittle and I can't repair them.

Hey Caligirl!

Looking at your comparison pic, I can definitely say Yes!, your hair has grown considerably!

The only reason why I would say trim your ends is if they are damaged (split-ends). If you have no split ends and especially if you are going to be doing the bun challenge, I see so purpose in cutting you hair right now. Just be sure to keep you hair moisturized ... and do some serious babying it to make up for the hair you've lost ... and even when wearing buns, be sure to moisturize your ends daily.

I have to agree. I would suggest that you only trim your ends if they are split/damaged. If you're doing the bun challenge, whether it's even or not won't matter. And your hair has definitely grown!

thanks to the rest of you guys for responding. the stylist did say that my ends are split. but i swear that's what everyone says when i go to someone new. *sigh*

caligirl, if your ends are split, u should at least let them take off 1/4 to 1/2 an inch to prevent them from splitting up the shaft. Show them how much u want cut and have them show u how much they cut when they start.

Once u get your ends trimmed as long as u keep them in good shape u wont have to trim them for a while, and u will be able to retain more length.

Your hair is growing nicely, so other than that just keep doing what u are doing!

Your ends don't look like they are in bad shape so IMO you shouldn't cut them. I'm wondering, where did the micros pull your hair out at?

Hey Hairbuddy!

Your hair has definitely grown. I was in the same situation that you are in right now at this very same time last year. Stay away from those scissors. Uneven hair doesn't=split ends. Keep doing the bun challenge and baby those ends and your hair will do it's thang. Trust me!! If you need proof go take a looksy at my album again. Good Luck. Your are making progress!! ok. i had a friend analyze my ends. in both of our opinions, they are not split - just uneven. so, i'm not cutting or trimming for a while. thanks, ladies!!
