I remember how short Jada's hair was when she first appeared on the Fresh Prince. Now, her hair is long and flowing and, yes she said it is her hair.

Has anyone heard of what her regiment is?

This is what was posted on carolsdaughter.com, but I suspect more was involved than this & if anyone knows please chime in:

Treat Worn Out Hair to This Deep-Conditioning Treatment

1) To prep the hair for treatment, shampoo and gently massage the scalp with exhilarating Rosemary Mint Herbal Shampoo (detangling formula). Rinse and repeat if needed.

2) Deep condition with a Hair Smoothie (for normal hair try Tui Hair Smoothie; for dry hair try Khoret Amen Hair Smoothie) and apply to hair from roots to ends. Leave in 15 minutes to one hour, depending on the level of damage. Rinse thoroughly. If you've got fine hair, shampoo again.

3) To replace essential oils, pour a small amount of Lisa's Hair Elixir into the palms of your hand and massage into hair and scalp. For extra hydration, squeeze a small amount of Hair Balm into palm of hands and apply to hair, concentrating on ends. Do not rinse out.

I couldn't stand Carol's Daughter hair products, the scent was too strong and they didn't seem any more moisturizing than my Nexxus or Alterna.:ohwell:

But everyone's hair is different. It sounds like a simple, sensible regimen for hair. As long as she's not abusing her hair on a regular basis, it will grow and retain length. I don't know how short Jada's hair was before but what she does for her hair sounds very similar to what I do for mine. Wash, deep condition, moisturize. Simple as that.:)

Jada's hair was extremely short initially.

But, I suspect she did other things/used other products b/c I thought she just recently became an investor in Carol's Daughter. I remember seeing her in braids quite often in the past, so perhaps she just did the basics plus protective styles.

I have only tried 3 carol's daughter's products and I really do like them: facial mask, mimosa hair honey, and healthy hair butter. To me, the facial mask scent was etremely strong, but not the others.

:look: It's funny cuz one year I saw her with a short do and the next year she was mid-back!
Her regimen: a bangin-*** lacefront:lachen: :lachen: :lachen:

YUP- I initially thought that too, until I later saw a stylist on TV who confirmed that it was her real hair....which obviously got me curious about her regiment....

well 6+ inches a year and it doesnt really take that long to get midback length hair....she didnt necessarily have to have an involved regimen to retain that length.

ITA she's been growing her hair for years, and at an average of 6 inches a year, its no surpize that her hair is the legnth it is. I still done understand why people would question if its hers, surely its common sense..

Girl

You know we are always suspicious about folks trying to pull one over on us about their hair. We dam near a magnifying glass plus a device to detect someone did not clone the dam hair to believe it :lachen: :lachen:

Ding ding ding, you're correct!

I'm sure Jada is using other products on the low--she just has to publicly say she uses CD since she's an investor/spokesperson. Just like in interviews, Queen Latifah, et al, says that they use brand "X"--the brand that they shill for. ;)

I wouldn't be suprised if that really WAS her hair - from an afro to midback in a year ain't hard if you are only 4'6!!! :lachen: :lachen:
But seriously, how tall IS Jada? I mean - that woman is TINY - her hair might only be 16-20 inches, and it's all down her back.....

LOL! :lachen:

She's 5'0".

I believe that is Jada's hair and it didn't go from a twa to midback in a year. I recall seeing her hair a several different lengths before I finally saw it super long. We all know that pretty much all celebraties do extensions from time to time but its also possible for a lot of them to have naturall long hair too. Hey, I don't recall ever seeing her on the fresh prince and I still watch all of the reruns every night on Nick at Night. I remember Elise Neal, Nia Long, Jasmine Guy, Cree Summers, Robin Givens, Garcelle Beauvais, Kim Fields, Vivica Fox, homegirl from Y&R...of course the list goes on but I don't remember single time Jada was on there. Jada fades in and out of the spotlight. So, its hard to determine how long it took for her hair to grow out. I do have a friend who had a short curly do, very short, while she was pregnant and by the time her son was 2, her hair was a very healthy bra strap length. It can be done.

lol  don't leave, that's what i thought too. celebrities lie about everything from their age to a nose job. why not lie about hair. when i saw her in that movie (can't remember the name. but she was a business exec and starred with jamie foxx) it was obviously a weave. so i can't say she's had this amazing growth.

Jada is my cousin and it is her hair, and it didn't take her one year to grow it took a few. She did wear braids a lot, but she just takes basic good care of her hair and she has the type of hair that will just grow no matter how you treat your hair (like my sister:mad:) not saying that she mistreated it. But if you followed her magazine interviews and things like that, you can see her different lengths of hair, from real short, to chin length, to long bob... Some of us don't have to go through strict regimines, voodoo rituals or sell our souls to grow hair.

OK I understand the proper care and everything but from TWA to MBL in 1 yr...sign me up!

We have one on here and she is doing quite well. I think her name is Scorpioqutie or Scorpiocuitie (sp?) She is not quite mid back but I believe she will get there this year. She is doing a great job and her hair is beautiful.

Though I could understand doing so for a movie because of the lights, hair style changes, colors, different stylists. I would wear one to to to protect my hair if I were in the same type situation.

I think that Jada has beautiful natural hair
I remember back when she was on a Different World and I thought her hair was pretty then
And on Tupac's video she was the girl walking along the street and he pulls up beside her in a car the light catches her face and hair
She had her hair in a bun and you could see her natural shiny wave pattern
Even when her hair was cut short she had pretty little curls and waves
Look at her mama her hair is cut short and it's still fierce!!!
Carols daughters products didn't work for my hair at all
They just made it greasy although some of the other 4B ladies love it
But Jada looks beautiful in the ads and I can see how the products would work well for someone with a looser curl pattern like Jada's

Your right 6 inches of growth on her = mid back. I love Jada's hair. He's my Hair Hero.:p

Jada was at an event at Harvard back in September or October talking about her future book or something like that. She wore her hair down. Nearly waistlength, or was it midback? can't remember. I wasn't there, but I saw many of the photos that my friends took of her.

Where is the picture where you allege lacefront let me get magnifying glass? Why do we not trust other black females about what they say about their hair? Celebs wear so many weaves or wigs we really do not know what is under there unless we do the Babara Walters method grab the hair. I find it interesting that folks who kick it off leave running behind bullet proof glass or fear they are going to get stoned. Some people do not need wgo, mtg, caynne pepper, hot sauce and coochie creams to gain hair length.

i agree and fresh prince was a long... time ago.

I still don't remember her ever being on Fresh Prince. :lachen:

Not to mention her cousin has already posted in this thread and confirmed its her hair. I find it interesting too that there are threads about blk females hating on other blk females hair. The vast majority of us say we don't do that but then as soon as one celebrity (who isn't biracial) steps out with long hair, right away its called a wig or weave by none other than other blk women. It happened in another thread where I mentioned admiring Aaliyah, Beyonce, and Zoe Saldana's hair. Immediately Aaliyah and Beyonce were thrown in the wig category but nothing was said about Zoe and I believe it is because she's biracial. The funny part is that both Aaliyah and Beyonce have had long thick hair ever since they were little girls and the fact is that all 3 ladies have worn extensions but that does not mean that they don't have long hair. My, my, my...

Yea she was on there. Thats where her and Will first met I believe (correct me if i'm wrong someone), though they didn't get together right away.

Her first film I think was the Inkwell and she had very long hair there, then she was on different world and had long hair then as well after that she went to short hair. Like Halle they have that super fast growing hair.

I could be wrong, but she auditioned for the part of his girlfriend on the show and didn't get it, Nia Long did. In either case, real or fake, her hair always looks really pretty.

Here's the info. She was never on the Fresh Prince. She auditioned to play the role of his girlfriend but Nia Long got the part. Oh well...Jada got the man. lololol
"Will and Jada, who first met in 1995 on the set of Smith's The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (she auditioned for the role of Will's girlfriend but was turned down."

Oh ok thanks.

Yea your right, I just looked it up lol. They said they met when she auditioned but she didnt get the part because they felt she was too short for the role. LOL!

But anyways, regarding her hair, time always seems to go by faster in celeb years (at least for me). We don't see these people everyday, so things can seem as if they happen faster. So to me its highly probable that she grew her hair that long. Like when celebrities get pregnant, then they have the baby i'm always like "dang, I thought she just got pregnant last month???" lol
