Last Minute ?\'s about Self-Relaxing

Any input is GREATLY appreciated!

- I'm switching from no lye to lye. Should I do a conditioning relaxer?... not quite sure I know much about them, but I read it means pulling the relaxer through the no-lye hair RIGHT before you wash it

- Is basing my scalp with just Vaseline enough? Or should I get a petroleum based product specifically for this?

- How long should I wait from doing a much needed Aphogee Treatment til I relax?

Re: Last Minute ?\'s about Self-Relaxing

What you described with pulling the relaxer through is called a corrective relaxer and I don't self relax but I am of the strong opinion that you shouldn't do this yourself.

You should only do it if you absoultely MUST because several textures on the hair are creating breakage. Take it slow. Do your new growth only - esp. if this is your first time relaxing it yourself AND you are making a switch.

Vaseline is petroleum based. it should be thicked enough.
