Hey ladies,

I been a member for 2 yrs now. Its been drilled in my head about having a hair regime. I must say I have become a lil OCD.
My hair is not at my goal length but it's the longest its been in 20+ years.
I only wear it down after a relaxer or if I have special plans.
My problem is how do I enjoy my new length without worrying am
I damaging it by wearing it down. How do I let go and enjoy what I
have worked so hard for??

Give yourself a set amount of days to wear it down. Ex: 3 out of 7 days.

Make your protective style really cute by being creative, adding hair jewelry etc.

Change your protective styles up. One week wear a bun...one week wear a messy bun with a twist out bang....whatever...

Another thing to consider: accessorize with a pretty silk scarf (draped over your shoulders) so your hair doesn't snag on coarser fabrics. Or just wear satin/silk tops on days you want to wear your hair down and be more conscientious of laying back on fabric-covered headrests.

My hair is always up and I don't mind that. But I when I do take it down once in a while I enjoy it without feeling like it is getting damaged and that would be like only for a day or two never more consecutively. However, it goes back up during bedtime and that is non-negotiable.

Best,
Almond Eyes
