ITS ROLL CALL!! ITS ROLL CALL!!

Alright my Bootcamp Divas....(Yes you can be fly in bootcamp...rockin' those fierce protective styles  )

So how is it going ladies? Are you still going strong?
What keeps you motivated to stick to the challenge?

LET ME HEAR THOSE PROGRESS REPORTS....Tell me your buns, roller setting, deep conditioning, running from heat and scissors stories....SPILL IT!!

P.S. I apologize for being late with the update thread...been busy with school, work, and buying first property...havent been on the board :ohwell:

I'm still hanging in there! I did use a pass and get a trim and flat iron a few weeks ago. My ends were tangly bc they hadn't been cut since I BCED my own hair. I wore a fall for a few weeks afterward and now I'm back to my weave. Everything's alright...

Everything is going great for me. I've been bunning like there is no tomorrow. I'm five weeks post and it looks like I may have 3/4 inch of NG (I don't really measure) my ends look fantastic. I'm really learning how to deal with my hair WITHOUT direct heat so I'm excited I joined.

I am still going strong as well. I'm in braids right now but I had been rollersetting and bunning when not in braids. I have always deep conditioned so that was nothing new but staying away from heat and scissors is something I had to learn the hard way. Before the challenge, I had gotten my ends evened up and went heat styling crazy and had to get my hair cut from heat damage. So that is my motivation.

I'm going strong! I'm wearing updos when I go out and I baggy while at home with castor oil and s-curl. My shedding has been minimal and my breakage is close to non-existant. I've been leaving it alone mostly. I need to up my water intake and take my vitamins more often (since my system is sensitive I have to space them out to every other day.) :D yay!

I had a weave for 2 months as my protective style and that worked for me. I am now doing the bun/phony pony and baggie thang.

Will do for couple more weeks alternating with my fall and then I will weave it up again.

Great challenge!

Oh wait, I used heat a couple of times.:perplexed

I've been hanging in but barely! I used a pass and trimmed my ends. I had to get rid of some serious straggly pieces! But I've been bunning and looking for other protective means. I bought a fall but im not in love with it.

Wow, the 1st session is zooming by. I might have to keep it going to a second!
All is well. I've been bunning 6 days per week and having 1 day on the weekend with my hair out. The deep conditions have worked wonders on the health of my hair and I can't beleive I never did them before! I'm planning to use my pass for my B-day at the end of this month and hopefully see if I've made progress length wise. I never measured, so hopeully I'll be able to tell. One things for sure is my hair's health is soo much better! :)

Checking in, and still going strong. I've been keeping my hair in braids, but plan to take them out this weekend, wear buns for a couple of weeks, then back to the braids. I can see that the growth will be amazing, so that's my motivation. I'm loving this challenge, thus far.

It's going great! I have a fall, three phony ponies lots of scarves and do buns quite often. I have so much to choose from I haven't gotten tired of protective styles at all!

I'm looking to do a crochet type weave so hopefully that will be fun. Lovin' my Boundless Tresses!:)

WoW, that went by quick! Everything is going great. I am in braids right now. Before I put the braids in my hair felt soooo nice.
keep up the good work ladies!!!

I am still going very strong. I am at the point where i am not even using heat to dc, only for aphogee treatments every 6 weeks. I am motivated by getting to BSL, and finally getting somewhere with my hair.. I am learning more about bunning and finding protective styles that i like. I am currently rollersetting and using the hair sticks. If i can find my doughnut then i will start bunning again... I am FLEEING THE BLOWFRYER,AND FLATFRYER and i am doing well.

sweetg - sounds like we're using the same protective style regiment!!!

Keep up the good work everyone!

I'm still going strong...used a pass to straighten the front of my hair that's not weaved. I'm 3.5 months post and can't wait until April 1st to relax. I've had to change my dc routine because of the sew in but i think it's working.

Still going strong and wearing my protective styles. My hair is loving the deep conditions. I finally found my staples and plan to touch-up at the end of this month to complete a 13-week stretch. What keeps me motivated is knowing I'm almost BSL, and this challenge helping me get there.

Well things haven't been that great with me to be honest. :ohwell: I have been transitioning for 23 months and it's getting hairy (no pun intended  ) I think I need a trim badly because I have about 1/4-1/2 an inch of relaxed ends left and it's tangling and getting knotty. Also, my hair has been really dry even though I've been co-washing more frequently. I finally figured out how to retain more moisture:

Co-wash with Suave Coconut conditioner
Condition with NTM hair masque
Final rinse
Saturate hair with Dove Moisture Mist
Add WGO to length and ends
Twist

I've also been wearing falls sometimes as a protective style. So far, so good :)

things have been going good here. :D. i'm actually learning a lot about my hair and one thing i definitely know is castor oil is my friend! my hair retains SO much moisture when i add it to my deep conditioners. i have also switched to only Aveda products now and my hair looks and feels wonderful. i've been sticking to protective styles w/ my own hair and i'll be back to yarn braids in April & May.

keep it up ladies :weird:

I am clipping it up everyday in a octopus clip or other clip. I am still deep conditioning and rollersetting like there is no tomorrow. I have gotten better with my vitamins and I just got another order of them today.

Hey
I had to use a pass (not my intention) when I had my Dominican salon experience. But I think my hair has bounced back tremendously. I had a sew in and I have been bunning like a mad woman. Then I rollerset on Saturday night to wear my hair in a cute style for church on Sunday. Then I am back to bunning. I am in love with my hair right now and I am waiting on my Boundless tresses order! :)

Still going strong but unfortunately had to trim off 2 inches of thin ends but I still think it will be thin...:perplexed . I lost whatever length I had achieved. :( . But in the end I think it was the only thing I could do. My hair grows slowly, and now that I am 49 I can't expect too much no matter what I do.

It's all good though....i got a compliment from a co worker at work. She said, " your hair looks so healthy!" Thanks to henna/indigo (covered my greys) and deep conditioning tactics. ;)

Doing well considering I haven't been faithful to my DCs and MTG applications... I used a pass last month just to check my length.:D I did a Aphogee Treatment Sunday and the difference in my hair is like night and day. I've also added Vitapointe to my arsenal. My current motivation is seeing how close my 'V' is to waistlength. Very encouraging progress!!! Wish I had a working camera to document the changes in my hair...:ohwell: I'm thinking about participating in another session. We shall see...:look:

ETA: I have also learned that Thourougly Clean Face Wash works well as a clarifier for my hair. Who'd a thunk it!

Still in my twists and DCing and what not, the only thing I'm slacking on is the vits..can't seem to remember to keep taking them

I was sick alll last week, didn't even wash my hair. And the 2wks before that i only poo/dc twice. So i'm tryin to hang in there, i poo/dc yesterday.
I feel much better, so i'm just tryin' to maintain cause ima LHCF soldier.:orders:  I can do this!

I've settled into bootcamp very nicely, and have no problems. So far I haven't had to use any passes. I'm sticking to very low manipulation (I only comb when I CO wash/deep condition). As far as protective styles go I tried twists once, and couldn't stand my hair down. I wore them for 1 week, and then went back to my one braid tucked under and held by a claw. Except for my heating cap to deep condition, I haven't use any heat. I'm motivated because what I'm doing is healthy for my hair, and easy to do.

It's good to see so many of you doing well. Let's kick some bootcamp butt ladies!:D

Bunning my hair has been making my head hurt, so I wear my hair up only 50% of the time: I pin it up very loosely at night and when I'm in public transport; I take out the hairpin once I reach my destination and am more "stationary".

I am still protected under a half wig, used a pass to cut a bang,:p will be weaved up for round 2, my hair loves the deep conditioning, I love the fullness I am getting from not overprocessing my hair:)

Still chugging on..... hair in updo most days or a phony with my hair tucked under, I am DCing at every wash and my hair is growing... also taking vitamins daily and exercising. And for the record ....I can not wait until April fools day so I can reveal my hair to my co-workers and family!
