I know there is a Lo Po thread but I am looking through it and there is too much going on.

Our cuticle is already sealed so once you open it up by using heat, baking soda, or high PH shampoo, Do you seal it? And when.

Do you put leave ins on first and then seal?? I was thinking that the leave in has to absorb into the hair so doesn't that defeat the purpose to seal then use a leave in on lopo hair?

I don't really seal. After I wash I let a little of the surface water evaporate. Then I apply my leave-in. I usually sit under my heat cap for 15 minutes. Then I twist.

Then I apply a very light oil when my hair is 50 to 80% dry.

If my hair is damp and I let it dry without an oil it will be drier than if I at least apply a light oil. The oil at that point does help some. If I just put on a leave-in and air dry, my hair will feel crunchy.

I am still learning though.
