Both are L'oreal products:

Masquintense is the high end version and retails for $37 for 150ml. ($17 in Germany)

LUST retails for $5 for 150ml

Ingredients are earily similar. Here are the first 8 for Masquintense:
Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Amodimethicone, Cetyl Esters, Isopropyl Alcohol, Sodium PCA

L'Oreal Unfrizz Smoothing Treatment aka LUST
Aqua (Water), Cetearyl Alcohol, Behentrimonium Chloride, Glycerin, Amodimethicone, Potato Starch Modified, Cetyl Esters, Isopropyl Alcohol

One has the big price tag and both share the first 5 ingredients. LUST has a pleasant smell, Masquintense smells like lotion.

Let's start the review!

Girl, I didn't post a review yet, just some info!! But I hear u with the price though!!! That's why I don't use it often only for really special occasions, like when I wanna a lil som'tin som'tin from my man!!

Allright, so here's my take on it. I like LUST a lot, but I love Masquintense even better. My hair feels like silk, it is soooo soft. I really really love this stuff! The tangles just drop right out. I have so much slip that I can't keep my hands out of my hair when I use it...I leave it on for 30 minutes without heat. There is a huge difference in how my hair feels even though the ingredients are similar. But I still continue using LUST because for how often I deep condition my hair, I would go broke with the Kerastase.

I would be interested in purchasing the LUST, but the jar is so darn small. I can't spend that amount of money on such a small amount. I'm such a tight-wad!!

Thanks for the picture Sassygirl

CK and Sassy, it's just packaged differently and called Elvital Intensiv -Kur for the German market.

Masquintense is also known as Kerologie here

Kitawita, I think u can get good sales on them over there. I remember reading somewhere on a post where some big chain store had a buy one get one free or something like that. But it also depends on how much hair u got. I can stretch a jar for up to 6 sessions.

Thanks CK!

Does a little go a long way with the LUST? I have VERY THICK shoulderblade length 4B hair.

Thanks!

I have alot about Lust maybe i should get it Lust sounds good. It sounds like it smells good.

Hey Kitawita

I have thick hair too (almost shoulder length) but I use a generous amount because my hair is so moisture thirsty.

Hey Nessa girl
What are u using now? I think u would like it.

I can't wait to try this Masquintense, after only 2 weeks on this board, I've officially become a PJ, I don't know whether that's a good or bad thing!!

Oh be careful!!!
trampoline.gif
Don't become a pj!! Try it only if other products aren't working out cause masquintense is too expensive a product to waste money on!!! By the way, welcome to the board girl

and enjoy your time here because in addition to the great tips u get, it's a lot of fun! And u get to meet some really great people!

I LOVE my LUST. I'm thinking about making this my main conditioner (meaning no more Pantene conditioners). This stuff is THE BOMB for my hair.

Hey Allandra, do u just use it straight on your hair or do u mix it with anything else? It works well on mine, but it doesn't quite give it what masquintense does and it kills me because the ingredients are so similar.

Can u post a link or something that would have more details and/or the ingredients?

This happened to me with the Pantene Smooth and Sleek. Everyone was loving it but I wasn't. It turned out that the one I was using was a creamy leave-in and not at all what everyone else was using. Also if this is the case,I haven't used the LUST that u are all talking about and apologize for that! I will get some and try it out for sure!!! If it is like Masquintense it would save me a fortune!! By the way, the smooth & sleek I used looked like this:

I have both these and love the both. I noticed the similarity in ingredients between LUST and Kerastase Smoothing Mask too (another real love of mine). The main diff. in the hair is that although both Macquintense and LUSt detangle well, LUST detangles even better for some reason. Macquintense adds volume to the hair too but not in a big buffonty way. It gently thickens which makes sense as it says its for dry fine hair.

I like them equally but LUST somehow gets the edge. If I compared it to the Smoothing Mask they run almost a tie. These are def. my fave slip conditioners and I only use them for rollarsets, not air drying.

My LUST ingredients are:
water, cetearyl alcohol, behentrimonium chloride, glycerin, amodimethicone, cetyl esters, lanolin, fragrance, methylparaben, propylene glycol, cetrimonium chloride, trideceth 12, hydroxypropyl guar, yucca vera extraxt, chlorhexidine, dihydrochloride, nettle extract, horsetail extract, rosemary leaf extract, 2-oleamido-1, 3-octadecanediol and lilium candidum bulb extract.

My Pantene S&S conditioner looks like this:

I have the lust as well but i tried it when my hair was having issues so i couldnt really reap the benefits. may have to give a whirl sometime soon. God bless you all.

Each morning this week, I put a little LUST on my wet hair (as a leave-in conditioner) and then I followed up with L’Oreal Vive Smooth-Intense Anti-Frizz Serum. I was very happy with the results (nice soft hair all day long - softer than usual). I tell you what, I am REALLY considering LUST as my staple conditioner. Too bad it's not as cheap as Pantene conditioners. Oh well.
ohwell.gif
I'm sure I'm gonna do it anyways. I'll be sure to stock up AFTER the July challenge. In the meantime, I try and use up my Pantene conditioners this month.

Heh heh, I knew all that prodding and reminding you to get LUST would work out

Its fast becoming a staple for me too (for rollarsets, I can't bring myself to 'waste' it on conditioner only airdry washes).

Hmmm, leaving LUST as a leave in too.... Of course......
