What hair products from these stores have you tried and absolutely loved? Are there any you now use regularly after discovering them? What products have you hated?

Marshall's put me on to the CHI line and I'm always using at least one of their products. I love CHI Nourish Intense conditioner when I can find it. CHI Straight is excellent as a blow-dry lotion, detangling damp hair, and setting my hair in braids or twists for air drying. And of course, CHI Silk Infusion never fails.

They always have Joico products but I'm paranoid about protein overload.. maybe I'm thinking too hard?

I recently discovered the Better Hair Products line. The name and bottle design seem very generic but the conditioner is very moisturizing and the ingredient list superior. It retains the natural scent of the ingredient (no added fragrance). I bet some naturals would like this one as well. Now that I'm thinking about it I probably should buy an extra bottle or two before they stop selling it.

What a great thread idea! I love exploring the beauty section at those stores.
My favorite finds are:

1. DermOrganics Daily Hydrating Conditioner - I thought nothing could give me the slip of WEN when co-washing my hair, but this stuff right here is incredible. It smells soapy, but my hair loves it. I'll be trying the Repairing Masque next week.

2. Sukin Products (Protein Conditioner, Nourishing Conditioner, and Moisture-Restoring Conditioner) - I use the Protein weekly (it's very mild) because it make my hair so spirally and soft. The other 2 I use occasionally as leave-ins. I love the smell of these products and use the similarly-scented body and facial lotions by Sukin.

Great thread RASpbery !! I'm usually standing in the hair care isle for a good hour researching products on google for reviews. So far I've only bought Joico products so I can't be any help but I'm subscribing for reviews!

I bought the CHI Nourish Intense shampoo and conditioner at TJ Maxx a while back. I wasn't wowed by the shampoo but i did like the conditioner. I also bought the Joico Moisture Recovery shampoo. Although it's not sulfate free my hair does not feel stripped at all, but soft and moisturized. It does contain proteins though. They call it a "quadramine complex" which is their blend of low molecular weight and size proteins that help ensure maximum protection and reconstruction from the cuticle to the cortex. I haven't had any issues with it.

Are you adding anything to get the burgundy highlights? It's pretty, but not overbearing, if that makes sense.

Thank you. Those highlights are my Grays and lighter natural highlights colored by the henna. Henna color will look different on everybody depending on your natural color.

Andrea2012 Thanks for giving me a reason to pick up some Joico .

Thanks drpeaches81! I pass over DermOrganics products all the time, I'll definitely keep this one in mind :yep:

I picked up the DermaOrganics Daily conditioner today! The ingredients look really nice and it smell good too. I'm just about out of all of my WEN 613 so I hope I like it just as much as @drpeaches does :-).

This 33.8 oz bottle is a steal at TJMAX for 19.99 compared to the little 10.1 oz bottle sold at Ulta for 16.99

I might have to look for this the next time I'm in TJ Maxx. This looks pretty good to me! I love the fact that it has NO silicones in it!

Thanks KiWiStyle
I'm gonna be on the hunt for this. Please keep me posted on if you like it or not!

Don't sleep on the home goods area, because I have picked up three satin pillow case sets from Ross for $2.99.

I'm glad you got the DermOrganic conditioner. You're going to like it :-) I used WEN 613 yesterday, and I still love it, but I think the DermOrganic is great competition. I first purchased it because the label stated "improve slip". How many conditioners have the word "slip" on the label? Lol, I knew it had to be good :-D

I have a 33oz bottle of DermOrganics mask ,i honestly didnt know ths brand's name until i saw the pic posted by KiWi.

KiWiStyle

Ok, it's all you FAULT! :-) I went to TJ Maxx and I saw one bottle of DermaOrganics. And what did I do you say.... Hmmm I brought it! I hope I like it. I'm so glad there are no silicones in this conditioner. My next wash day, I will try it out!

Uh-un, I am not taking the blame for this one. I'm just like you, I ran to TJ Maxx looking for it just like you. drpeaches81 is to blame ;-).

KiWiStyle and Beamodel

You're welcome in advance. :yep: I'll take the blame for the Dermorganics conditioner purchases, because they are just :lick: Just don't buy them all if you're in Chicago cuz I don't want to pay Ulta's price :nono:

A classic - Rusk Sensories Smoother Conditioner. 33.8oz for $10...can't beat it

@Egyptjones yessss Rusk Smoother is the bizness :yep:. I love to layer it as part of a LOC regimen, most of the time I moisturize with it and seal it in with a light pomade - super silky braid-outs/twist-outs this way. It's also great pre-blow dry combined with Chi Silk Infusion. First discovered it at Marshall's a year or so ago and have gone through multiple bottles since then.
