Well, this month while reading Allure magazine (it's the hair issue!)... I saw a couple of salons listed in Sterling Heights and Birmingham. They have one or two people who do ethnic hair, but I'm a bit nervous.
Usually magazines skip over the metro area when reviewing salons.
I really would like to find a mixed salon that does really good ethnic hair.
I'm sorry...but I am so sick of the Black Stylists and Salons in Detroit.
The lady who used to do my hair on occasion and Undisputed doesn't work there anymore... then I went to this place called Status Up Salon in Inkster... and the damn barber was all in my face and the girls just had that hoodrat vibe about them.
I don't like those salons that are full of all the wanna-be video girls and their gelled up ponytails, neck tattoos, and multi color claw like nails...so the so-called upscale black salons in Detroit....I'm not feeling them.
I've finally accepted the fact that I'm gonna need to venture out to other places.
Does anyone know of a GOOOOOOOOOD mixed salon OUTSIDE OF DETROIT but in the metro area?
Somewhere that knows about foiled in color and net weaving and can cut a nice shape into the hair.
Anyone have a good experience...and if so, where?
