Due to grey hair, I dye my hair- but I'm finding that black is just too dark and permenant dyes that say they're "off black" are still to dark also but #2 browns are just a tad lighter than I like. I was thinking about buying a 1B and a #2 and mixing two parts #2 to one part #1. Does anyone see any danger in mixing permenant dyes like this? I'm going to use Clairol Textures and Tones.

Please advise, I don't want to go bald.

yes, you can mix colors, just make sure you use the right amount of developer when your ready to stir it all together.
