I washed my hair on Sunday, then the next morning (Monday) I moisturized the new growth and oiled the scalp.
It felt a bit too greasy after that but I think the hair absorbed it after a while.

I put my hair in satin rollers last night and when I took it out this morning, the hair was fine. Not too moisturized and not too dry.

My hair got rained on today and my hair just feels so greasy now. Oil was running down my forhead.

How do I get all of the grease out of my hair without having to wash my hair again?

You can try to use a towel to blot the hair and try to soak up some of the grease.

What might help you with greasiness is to moisturize your hair while it's wet this way your hair will absord the product. Try using less product or you may need to switch moisturizers if your hair isn't absorbing this product.

If it's that greasy maybe co-washing would help and maybe using a lighter (or less oil) the second time around

Unfortunately you'll probably will have to go back to the drawing board and wash you hair again. I would suggest you clarify to start with a clean slate then focus on a deep conditioning treatment. What kind of products are you using?

If you don't feel like washing now, a quick fix would be wrapping your hair and tying a scarf around it. Try to use a lower grade of silk, like a ployester/silk blend because the really good silk scarves don't suck up the stuff. I do it when I'm a little overzealous with the moisture and sealing at night, and it really soaks up all the extra oil and product in the hair. When you take it down, you'll have to moisturize and seal again, but make sure to use a lighter hand.

Good luck!

Girl...........What are You Using?:look:

I would still like to know what you are using? If Your Hair has the inability to absorb moisture you may need to clarify to remove product buildup and/or you may have porosity issues which would make your hair unable to absorb and retain moisture as well.:yep:

Or......Your Product could have been applied to heavy. So for us to be able to "intelligently" help you, it would be helpful to know what you used on your NG & Scalp.

Right now, we are all guessing how to fix it, but it would be "helpful" to know what you used.:ohwell:

Please tell us what you used.
Next time don't use so much.
And yes, right now you should just bite the bullet and go cowash your hair or wash it.

I used braid spray as the moisturizer.
And I used hollywood beauty castor oil.

I don't have time to wash my hair. D:
I have school tomorrow.

With castor oil a little goes a long way. Next time use very little like a dime size amount for your entire head.

Hollywood Beauty Castor oil, that thick grease in the jar? Um...yeah, I only use that to seal in the ends of my daughters hair when I braid it. It's really thick and heavy, I would never use that to oil my scalp.

Yep, you're going to have to wash it out, or deal with the greasies. Sorry.

Try using pure Castor Oil (the laxative) on wet hair, sparingly or a lighter oil like Coconut.

Sleep on a cotton pillow case. :look: It'll draw the grease right out. I know this is a board nono but it worked for me when I over did it with shea and coconut oil. It didn't totally dry my hair out but it took enough of the product out to where it was manageable and still soft.

Thanks guys.
I didn't know that using too much of the castor oil would be overload.
I'll use light oils for next time.

I just liked the castor oil because, it worked really well on my new growth.

How do you know when you need to clarify?

How do you know when you need to clarify?

I learned this last year during my transitioning. When you hair feels really heavy, weighted down, and possibly your pores feel clogged up then it's time to clarify. If you never clarify before try it say this weekend ( my wash days us usually on a bump Sunday). Of course wash only your scalp, the rest will rinse away down your strands. Makes sure follow up with some kind of co wash or moisturizing shampoo because you will have that squeaky clean feel which, in this case, is good. Moisturzing conditioner, DC treatment, and then you should well on your way to a fresh start with your daily moisturizer. Good Luck and keep us updated.

When that used to happen to me i used to blow-dry my hair with the comb attachment, it will dry up the oil a bit. I'm sure that's not the best thing to do, but you could try it.

I know some people use baby powder, cornstarch, etc to get their hair not so oily so it kinda acts like a dry shampoo as sorts. With oiling though less is always more.
