ok I don't post much on here, but I've searched and this new layout would not give me what I was looking for (I hate this by the way). I want to know what products or techniques make your hair revert back to it's natural texture. Yes, I am natural have been for 8 months, but I find that my hair never truly reverts when I wash it. At least my coils never come back. I want them back :( without having to let my hair remain shrunken for weeks just to get them. Advice would be nice :)

if its heat damaged it probably wont revert back...but you could try some good deep conditioning (maybe moisture/light protein)...what exacly is your regimen?

I don't use heat at all, I tried to flat iron once since I've been natural, I hope that didn't do it :( but I usually wash and condition my hair like every 4-7 days, and put it in twists. I used aphogee one time and my hair was blah I don't think my hair likes a lot of protein idk but I was looking at this one thread that said your curls start to hang differently as your hair grows, maybe that's it since I'm approaching apl, but I like my coils and wish they'd return sigh. (sorry about the run on lol)

Do you mean it doesn't revert after using shampoo? You can try just cowashing for awhile or use a more gentle shampoo, or get a shampoo bar. I know that if I shampoo my hair more than once it gets crazy and frizzy, and it will take a couple of days for it to calm down.

i've been searching for a poo so right now I'm using the curls cream cleanser from target, I was using the AO HSR because I had bought it on accident. I clrify with diluted ACV I use the AO HSR conditioner, giovanni direct leave in or kinky curly knot today and I seal with jojoba oil. I use HE Hydralicious to detangle. I use a water/glycerin mix ever day as a refresher, recently started using aloe vera juice. And that's about it, but most of these products have been recently implemented in my reggie. Am I doing too much?

A few weeks ago I had been doing a light protein pre-poo treatment with coconut cream and honey, I started to see breakage so I stopped with that. I'm all types of turned around and confused right now. Probably need to go back to my v05 and aussie moist days when things were simple.

that's exactly what I mean, and I thought shampoo was supposed to make it revert, like it still curls, but my hair won't clump into nice coils like it used to. I literally have to wash is and let it shrink and keep doing that for like three washes before I'll see them.

Hmmm...well...ACV doesn't clarify, so you don't really need that in your reggie unless you have high porosity hair and need help sealing your cuticle. Are you using any gels? That may help them come back faster as well.

thats true too, my curls were always looser in the top, but as it gets longer, its more obvious and they look even looser...maybe b/c of the weight of the hair, or b/c its growing down and not out

yeah I think I'll be ok if that's the case, just gonna miss them lol

Have you tried using Amla powder? I hear that it also helps to define curls by making them slightly tighter.

I know I'm extra late, I couldn't access the site, but no I haven't tried amla powder, will have to check that out. And I always where my hair in twists so I thought once you washed your hair it was supposed to revert back to it's natural state or texture. Where I used to have coils I now see curls and it's been happening for awhile probably since like March. But I just became curious as to why they haven't been showing up.
