my SO is growing his hair out and twisting it.
he's a 3c/4a who's looking to achieve a JOHN LEGEND:

or ERIC BENET:

type afro/twist mixture. his hair is actually longer than both John and Eric's in these pics.

A natural sista we met at a club recommended
kinky curly custard : http://www.kinky-curly.com/CURLINGCUSTARD.html

anything else you ladies would suggest for curly type twists - that he DOES NOT want to lock???

I don't have anything to add. Just wanted to say HI.

He should have been at the meetup if he had questions.:lachen:

I've used the ORS Lock and Twist Gel. It's pretty good. If you use too much you'll get little white thingies though. Also, What about fantasia gel? A little bit should do the trick since you said he already has a curl pattern. A little bit of leave in conditioner might do it too.

I was thinking the same thing about the Fantasia IC gel....maybe you can twist his hair then take it out the next day for a twistout. :look:

thanks mucho.
we'll try the I-C gel too.
do you think that will help the twists stay in?
problem is - he likes to co-wash everyday so its been growing very well - but when it gets wet (even without conditioner) the twists come out.
he's getting :wallbash:
he twisted for about 4 hours this morning. when he hopped in shower, they came out

Tell your SO welcome to OUR world  ....if he co-washes everyday then he might want to try putting rubberbands on the ends of his twists, co-wash then take the rubberbands off. His twists should be ok.

I use Jane Carter Nourish and Shine after aloe vera gel when I twist DD's hair. My DH loves the smell.
