My Summer PS: Twists *working pics*

I finished my twists earlier today. It took me about 8 hours to complete. I started last night by co-washing my hair and detangling with some olive oil/kids detangler mix. I didn't lose as much hair as I have in the past ( I've had bad postpartum shedding, I'm hoping this means it is subsiding!)

The hair that I used was regular keneklon braiding hair. I kinda wanted to use marley braid but i wanted the twists to be long and neater.

I did the hot water dip method to ensure my ends do not unravel. Before I dipped them tho, I coated my hair with conditioner and evco. I've heard that some ppl have gotten damage from dipping their hair in the hot water.. I was hoping to deter that from happening... I guess I'll see after I take out the twists.

I hope to keep these until the beginning of August. That will be a challenge as I love being all up in my hair.

Lastly, I will probably co-wash once a week and make sure to spray my hair with evoo/condish/tea tree oil/water mix as often as I remember to. Ok.. onto the pics!

Is it only two pics? The last one looks really neat and you look like you didn't lose much hair at all! AWESOME!

Thanks ladies for looking and for the compliments!

So jealous...where did you learn?
I just watched people do hair. All of the women in my family are hairstylists. I want to learn how to do them without starting with a braid, but that's hard as ever!

From what I can see, those look very nice and you did a fantastic job!!! Kudos to you for doing that on your own. I don't have the patience.:nono: Those are really pretty though.

Gorgeous twists...you did an excellent job sis!

Are the twists shiny in person? They don't look too shiny in the pics at all!

Also did you curl the ends w/ rollers before dipping them in hot water?

Nope they aren't shiny in person at all. I didn't roll them up, I twisted each section after I finished, so I had 6 big twists and dipped them that way.

Thanks ladies for the compliments and for looking!
