Naturals....do you still have to oil your scalp?

I noticed when I started my hair journey relaxed, oiling my scalp made my hair thicker, especially in the back. As a natural for over 10 years I never oiled my scalp. But I remember how beneficial it was as a relaxed head so for over a year now I have been oiling my scalp. My hair is a lot thicker then it used to be. I need more product for my hair and it takes longer to do my hair. I really think it’s because I’ve been oiling my scalp. That’s the only thing that has changed from my regimen.

I just oil it twice a week, when my hair is twisted and sectioned. Once after I wash and condition my hair and again when I re-twist it in the middle of the week. I can’t oil it when it’s just out. It’s too much work. I would say try it for a couple months and see if you notice a difference. It does take time to see a difference though, maybe 4-6 months or more.
