Hi everyone,

A couple of weeks back I posted that the powdered MSM gave me really bad side effects (large acne bumps, insomnia & headaches) and I refuse to give it another try.

I paid $30 for the tub and I really hate to waste money, so I'm wondering if anyone knows if I could mix it in conditioner or make my own hair or body concoction with the powder?

Wow I'm really sorry to hear about what it did to you. /images/graemlins/frown.gif I don't have any suggestions but I'm sure someone here will. I wonder if the brand makes a difference at all. I've seen quite a few ladies talking about the side effects but I've been taking 4000mg a day mixed with water for over a month and never had any problems. I guess it's just another testament to how what works for some will not for others.

have you thought about adding it to your hair oils? i started doing this with my powdered msm. i prefer to take the caps.

Crysdon,

Sorry to hear that it had that effect on you. I've heard of the headaches and the skin issues but not the insomnia. I think the skin acts up because the body is being rid of the toxins through the MSM, if I remember correctly.

I didn't do it for long but I applied it to my WGO hair oil, I didn't do it consistently as the PJ always gets the better of me and I can't stick to one thing, or you may want to dilute it a little and spray on your scalp.

i forgot about spraying. i am also going to empty out half off my scurl no drip and add the msm diluted in water to it.

Here is the link to a site that shows how to make creams and lotions with msm powder.

Perhaps you can try taking the powder internally in very small amounts like 500mg or 1/8 teaspoon.
