I started taking a B-complex about three weeks ago, and I've never been so thirsty in my life.

I estimate that I drink about 12 to 14 cups of water each day, and I'm still thirsty. In fact, I'm thirsty right now, although I just had three cups of water.

I also pee a lot more, and the color is usually orange-yellowish or yellowish-green.

Is this normal?

I agree with going to see your doctor. Your should also stop using that formulation of vitamins, immediately, to see if your symptoms improve.

ETA: It is normal to see a bright yellow color in urine when taking B-vitamins. But, Orange/green? - this does not sound right.

Vitamin B Complex and Urine

Vitamins and minerals are available in various different colors and result in certain color affects.

Vitamin B complex is highly responsible for changing the color of the urine. Some members of the B complex family, like Vitamin B1 (thiamine), Vitamin B3 and Vitamin B6 (pyridoxine) are white in their natural state whereas Vitamin B12 is pink and Vitamin B2 is orange.

Vitamin B complex comprises of all the water soluble vitamins. These vitamins get dissolved in water and are washed out from the body in the form of urine. The excretion of B vitamins in normal growth cycle does not change the color of urine but when taken in excess riboflavin tends to change the color. If B vitamins are not consumed daily in adequate amount, it tends to cause the deficiency symptoms.

The normal urine color is pale yellow.

Increased thirst is associated with vitamin D. Does your B complex have iron and other vitamins in it?

you should be drinking 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water, also keep in mind its been very hot i know that the thirst has been ongoing for me because of this.

Well, I know niacin (vitamin B3) is associated with "flushing". Your skin will literally change colors when it's going through a niacin flush. The flushing is your capillaries widening so your blood can more throughly remove toxins. If you have a large amount of toxins in your body, it would be normal for you to crave more water, as water helps the blood flush the toxins out of your system.

Your urine color seems normal to me. Your body isn't absorbing all the vitamins you're giving it. When I was taking B-Complex 100 my urine was bright orange. I reduced my intake to a B-Complex 50 and got the same results, with bright yellow urine instead.

Are you doing more activities? I know that B-complex will give you more energy and it's hot a Hades outside, could it be a combination of the two?

Otherwise, I believe thirstiness is associated with high blood sugar also, are you on a low carb diet?

frizzy

Nope, no extra activities. Just the usual.

I think that I might stop taking the B-complex. I only started noticing these symptons when I began taking it.

I don't know about the excessive thirst, but I've taken Super B-Complex for years and the yellowish urine is normal. If you have any doubts though, I'd definitely recommend seeing a doctor.

My pee is green-ish/almost highlighter yellow when I was taking a B-complex. I researched it and it's pretty normal.

Although, you should take it with/after food for maximum absorption. Otherwise, you're taking it, your body is not absorbing it properly, and you're just peeing it all out.

If you are extremely thirsty, it might be a number of things that are causing this and not just the vitamins. You really should speak to your doctor.
