I am concerned that I have been in braids too long.
I think my hair is growing because I usually can go two 1/2 weeks without having to redo my braids. I can already see new grow a day after I put the braids in?
I braid often and deep condition when the braids are not in. I use alma oil, olive oil, MTG, nexxus luxxtress leave in and giovanni leave in. I use mtg treatment at night and baggy. I put moisturizer on at mid-day because it is usually dry by then. I co-wash 1x week with braids in. I take superfood supplements, soy protien, multivitamin, evening primrose, msm, Omega vitamins, and biotin. When I take my hair down, it looks the same. Is that shrinkage. I have not had a relaxer in over a year. I try to do the stretch test but it still looks the same to me. What could I be doing wrong?

If you haven't had a relaxer in over a year...then you do have shrinkage. It sounds as though you are doing things right to me. If you can't tell how much growth you have gained try flat ironing a section of your hair and track your hair growth that way.

I'm relaxed so sorry if not much help maybe a natural will come in here and give you some advice:)

Okay.

I guess you could say that I am a little confused. I still have relaxer half way at the halfway point. I am about 4 inches from APL w/o streching. I will know more in a couple of weeks. I am going to take the braids down. I was going to put a relaxer in it, but flat ironing is a good idea too. I still up in the air on the relaxer/natural decision. Leaning toward the relaxer.

What she said.:) Sounds like you're doing everything "right", it's just that you have shrinkage. How do your ends look, are they healthy?

I really dont know what healthy looks like , but I don't have any split ends. If anything my hair is just not all one length all around. I guess I am just nervous.
