I know alot of you ladies make your own butters. Do you add perservatives, and if not how long would a homemade mix last? Will it get moldy? Sorry for all the questions but as you can see I'm a newbie?

HI THERE!
it depends on what you use in it. i don't usse preservatives in my butters. i've used avocado, hemp seed, shealoe, and now shea butter. they all have good shelf life of .5-2yrs of life. them getting moldy, i've never had a problem with that....i don't really mix them b/c i love using butters the way they are. accept my shea butter.....LOVE IT! i mixed some with coconut and jojoba oil in a small jar. ive had it for about 2 wks now with no problem. b careful with aloe....it molds quickly. it just depends on what you mix with it.
