nolye gives more volume?

For ladies who have previously used nolye relaxers and have switched to lye, from your experience, which relaxer type gave your hair more volume? The last time that I used a relaxer, which was years ago, it was lye. However, I remember the nolye giving me more volume than the lye even though they were the same strength...and back then I used to use those store bought box nolye relaxers. So dish out please

my hair has no more volume now that i use lye than when i used no lye. as i recall, no lye never actually relaxed my hair anyway.

i'd say relaxers make you have less volume. i've never seen a change from lye to no lye in my head...except for less burns. :x
