Hey all,
I just paid my subscription after 4 long years of lurking. :yep: I had relaxed hair all throughout high school, until finally after my first year in college I realized I had to save money somewhere, and so I stopped getting it done. Transitioned from November 2007 and chopped off the last of my relaxed ends in November 2009. Honestly trim my hair only once or twice a year, and sadly I have been bsl/ almost mbl for the past year (and I know my hair is growing, I am just not retaining a thing).

My goal now is to stop with the manipulation and get healthy, BIG hair. For years, I was cowashing/washing my hair about 3 or even four times a week. And since I am a 4a/3c, my hair tangled something bad. Also, I use a lot of non natural products such as Suave tropical coconut, cantu shea something, and some dc filled with silicones, and I literally feel the products just sitting on top of my hair. Honestly I would have stayed a lurker, as I was not that interested in the health of my hair (b/c I was more concerned with length), that is until I washed my hair last week and it fell out in clumps. As in, when I was done, i collected two BIG handfuls of hair :nono:. So now Im all into being natural, healthy, inside and out. Anyways, enough from me. Just wanted to say HI and introduce myself. :drunk:

Hi. If the adnormal shedding continues go get a physical with your doctor. I just let people know because of what happened to me and others I've seen on the forum. Iron definciency will cause heavy shedding out of nowhere. It creeps up on you over several months and it'll mess up your hair. I wish I had known sooner so I don't want it to happen to anyone else.

Welcome to the forum! Do you shampoo or clarify for you may have buildup?

I am pretty sure I had buildup too, from too much conditioning. I shampoo every week or two weeks, depending on how my hair feels. But I am positive my dc caused way to much build up..to the point where i felt like i had to shampoo it again after three days. I was using biolage hydratherpie by the way. I just washed and conditioned my hair in sections today--first time ever tyring it. hopefully that will help too.
