Oh man im taking down my braids at the moment and again I see breakage, coming from the ends, in tiny bits like they are just snapping off or something. I don't know what to do :nono:

I am going to give my hair a break from braiding as my hair needs allot of TLC...

I am a 3c/4a natural and have been weaing braids for ages- and I have only now stareted to care for it... my hair also has these knots...I see them where the hair snaps off!

Please help.... I dont know what to do.......:cry2: Its really really frustrating, after 5 years of braiding all I have to show for it is a broken damaged mess...

Please any advice types etc are most welcomed...I am trying to use natural products at the moment.

During your break from braiding do lots of deep or overnight conditioning and lots of natural oils! and oil your ends every night

I used to wear braids nonstop for years and did nothing to my hair once they were in so I know how you feel. Right now you need to really pay attention to your hair. I would say, deep condition at least once a week (and do more if you feel like you need it). Also, moisturize your hair, especially your ends. Last, find a protective style that works for you, preferably one that will allow you to stay away from manipulating your hair too much, since it's probably pretty weak right now.

Do not do any protein treatments right now because your hair probably won't be able to handle it and you don't want to make the situation worse.

Hope this helps!

Were your ends exposed. Sometimes, with individual braids your ends may peek out from the braids. If you did not moisturize and condition your braids regularly the ends may be slightly damaged. You may require a slight trim or dusting and several deep conditionings to get your hair back on track.

Braids are a great way to retain length, however you must care for them just as much (if not more) as you would your loose hair. :yep:

Im a bit lazy with moisturizing my hair, I do try to do the growafrohairlong.com technique and spritz my hair with a concoction I made consisting of rose water leave in moisturizer glycerin etc
