…and its name is Pantene Extra Liso (Extra Straight). I passed this up in Wal-Mart a few wks ago because I am trying to buy less products:ohwell:. But a few days ago I passed by it again and it called my name:lachen:so I bought the bottle of combing crème.
The instructions are only in Spanish (I have already written to Pantene about this), so I went to the website and got the instructions.
I washed my hair conditioned it and after rinsing I applied the Extra Liso, I could see it taking affect right away. I brushed it in with my Denman and WOW! By the way I am 13 wks post. It looked like I just got a touch up. My new growth was bone straight. I put a little oil to seal in the moisture and I pulled my hair back in a bun and tied it up in a scarf. The next morning I put a little jojoba oil and some NTM serum for shine. My hair felt so soft and silky. That was Wed. nite and today my hair is still straight and not hard at all. My edges were lying down, they did not frizz up at all.
The bottle cost $3.53 and since I got it from Wal-Mart if I did not like it I could take it back, so to me it was risk free. I am not trying to get anyone to buy anymore products, but I would like to hear from some other stretchers and naturals about how this product works for them.

It's a daily struggle...I think I saw this product at the DG around the corner and I had managed to leave it alone...and now this...

Sorry:look:

No sorries...it's good to get a review...I was probably going to end up buying it anyway....that and a couple of other products I saw with Spanish labels.

I was curious, which one of the products in this line did you use? Was it the intensive treatment or combing creme? I may just give it a try.

I did a search using the word "liso" and came up with a few hits. I am too afraid to even try this--I need my naps to give my hair body and I would be afraid they would disappear. :D

I used the combing creme, and now I am thinking about getting the whole line for those days when I want a straight look.

did you have to use heat like blow it out

No, no heat I just applied to my damp hair and tied it up with a scarf. But before I put on the scarf I could see that it was already straight.

I see in your siggy it says you are not sure your hair type....are you able to tell if it is in the 3's or the 4's?

I am 4b and in my 14th week post relaxer. I have a couple products that I like to tame my ng but nothing that i love so I am still trying things out...

It is very cheap and like you said you can return anything at wal-mart so i will be on the lookout but am curious to know your hair type

thanks for the review

I am having difficulty figuring out my type because I have several different types on my head, but I am pretty sure that my nape would qualify as a type 4 and it worked wonders back there :)

So...I went to walgreens with the intension of ONLY picking up MNT condish (theres by 1 and get 1 free sale ya know ). Anyways, there it was, I just had to try it, and low and below it laid my 4abwhatever edges dooowwnn!

Thanx punchinella!

lol. you sound just like me. Trying to get these edges to lie down lately is no joke. I always have lil fine hair that does whatever it wants to do. I hate that. I will see what it will for my hair. I think i will need it in a few more weeks when I have more new growth. I am trying to make it to 10 weeks this time. (we will see.) lol

Okay so I picked up this product from wal-mart and tried it last night after I washed and DC'd my hair. I noticed that the product was a regular conditioner(not a leave in) and I put some on but not too much because I wasn't planning on rinsing it out. Bad Idea. I tied my hair down with a satin scarf and worke up this morning and the part of my hair (mainly the front where I applied the conditioner )was crispy hard  :(......So I put some Headdress to soften it up so I could comb through it and some mango butter on the roots to slick down since I had to get to work....When I get home I will have to rinse out my hair again.....I am thinking maybe it left my hair hard because the conditioner was meant to be washed out....but then again I only used a small amount......I am not going to bother trying it as a regular conditioner because I am happy with the ones I use......

So.....I had completly diff results than the OP and I am glad I purchased it from wal-mart b/c I will be returning it asap.

I know this is really late, but did you use the conditioner or the combing creme?? It sounds like you used the conditioner, and the OP used the combing creme.

ETA: I'm actually glad I looked up this thread again, because I thought I'd try it out, and I got the conditioner as well. Back to Target to get the combing creme.

i am going to try this to help me stretch. please keep updating!

I think I may try it too. Its really easy to tame my front edges and nape but the crown of my head is like WHOA!! That's where its extra thick and has a mind of its own. lol Thanks for the tip!

Is it the one in the hot pink bottle? I think I already have it, actually mine is the Pantene Blow Straight and it does a good job but leaves my natural hair a little dry. I'm going to pick up the combing creme and Hello Hydration - I do like their products a lot!

Hey, can you compare the ingredients in the Blow Straight to the ones in this post?

Thanks punchinella,im about 12 weeks post and my new growth is no joke.I'll pick some up this weekend!!!!!!!!:D

Okay, I'm not sure what I did wrong, but Extra Liso did not work for me. I did not get the straight relaxed hair that some received. I am 3 months post, and I still had tons of waves after using this. And I put my hair in two ponytails, banded the ends, and tied it down with a durag to air dry.

My hair was also really weighed down after air drying and flat ironing. I had absolutely NO body what so ever. My hair always has body when I flat iron. I'm not certain if it was the Extra Liso or not because I used another new product as well (Nature Garden Shine Enhancing Conditioner).

So, ladies please tell me how you were using the Extra Liso. Maybe I did something wrong.

BTW, I'm going to post this on the other Extra Liso threads as well. So, you may see it again.

I notice if I use a durag my hair gets wavy (I think that's why the guys wear them) but if I use a silk scarf my hair gets straighter.
